The Neighborhood:
Welcome to the Monterey Peninsula. It is known for its spectacular coastline, unique coastal communities, and rich marine life.
Pebble Beach is home to eight championship golf courses, The Lodge at Pebble Beach, the Inn at Spanish Bay, and the famed 17 Mile Drive (one of the best-known scenic drives in the world). There are miles of hiking and equestrian trails that wind throughout the Del Monte Forest.
Carmel-by-the-Sea is world-renowned for its European charm, beautiful white-sand and dog-friendly beach, performing arts, numerous art galleries, and hundreds of shops and restaurants. The historic Carmel Mission offers daily tours. Point Lobos State Park, with its miles of hiking trails and rich underwater habitat is often referred to as the crown jewel of the State Park system.
Monterey is home to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which will get you close to the wonders of the Monterey Bay. Step outside the Aquarium and you are on Cannery Row, where John Steinbeck drew inspiration for his novel about life in the sardine canning industry. Today Cannery Row is lined with hotels, shops, restaurants, and fun activities for the entire family.
From Cannery Row, you can jog, walk, or ride a rented surrey or bicycle along the scenic Recreation Trail to Fisherman’s Wharf. Along the way, you will see harbor seals, sea otters, and pelicans in their natural habitats on the dazzling waterfront of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
If you are here during humpback season (May through August), you may catch a glimpse of the magnificent creatures breaching just off the coast. Gray whales visit us December through February.
Pacific Grove is often referred to as America’s last hometown. It is known for its Victorian homes and as the “Butterfly Capital of California” due to the annual migration of the Monarch butterflies. The Point Pinos Lighthouse is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast and can be toured in the afternoon. Asilomar State Beach offers beach and coast trail walks and a short, accessible boardwalk loop through the Asilomar Dunes Natural Preserve. Lovers Point Park has become Pacific Grove’s best-loved spot for picnics, with its spectacular view of Monterey Bay. Bicycles and kayaks can be rented here, and it is one of the only spots on the West Coast where you can watch the sunrise over the water.
Travel 12 miles inland along the Carmel Valley Road, and you will arrive at the charmingly rustic Carmel Valley Village. The sun always shines here, and the Village is home to a handful of excellent bistro-style restaurants that offer outdoor dining. A dozen or so local winery tasting rooms are clustered here within walking distance of each other, Garland Ranch Regional Park offers dozens of miles of hiking and equestrian trails.
The weekly papers (the Carmel Pine Cone, the Monterey Herald Thursday edition GO section, and the Monterey Coast Weekly) are full of information on local events. As you can see, there is much to do here, and we hope you will plan on coming back year after year.

Check-in is at our offices, 400 Camino Aguajito, Ste 105. Monterey, CA 93940. Our Offices hours are 10-6 typically M-F, 12-4 SA-Sun but we are flexible In regards to early access to the home or late check-out, that is based upon availability. In advance, we just don't know whether another guest will be checking out that morning or checking in that afternoon. Typically it takes our cleaners five to six hours to do the job properly.
