"The best place to stay in Canterbury with breathtaking views of the Cathedral. The hotel is a nice place, very clean and a delicious breakfast. On the downsize the rooms are very small, mostly the Queen bed compared to American standard. The staff is helpfull but don't seem very profesional. Looks like they are on a learning capacity. "

"Es familiar, el dueño muy amable, es tranquilo , la habitación muy amplia con 3 camas con mucha luz y muy céntrico pero tranquilo ya que hay una calle que separa la zona de turismo. El autobús está a 2 minutos y la catedral y los comercios y restaurantes. Todo perfecto, no hay ascensor pero disponen de habitación en la planta baja.Se puede desayunar y hay café y te , galletas en la habitación. El baño grande y limpio. "A clean, well-run place. I booked at the last minute, so the email with information on accessing the place was sent by email while I was on the train. Wifi on the train was non-existent, so I had difficulty downloading the information, so I rang the landlord, who was extremely helpful. "

"In over 30 years of travelling on business, this is one of the best places I have stayed in.Although I did not meet the owners it was clear that the accommodation was well looked after and virtually everything had been thought of for the comfort of their guests. Virtually everything was absolutely spotlessly clean.The only small point I noticed was that there was dirt around the toilet seat hinge - a bit of a dirt trap and difficult to access(I'm sounding like a "Four in a Bed" contestant...

"It's a great retreat. The environment is quiet and chill,, rooms with good view on a grassland with cows & hares getting around. The only thing is the privacy,, since the glass of the window is not shaded and the people passed by could easily see through into your room when you are looking at the beautiful view."

"I love these type of B&B’s. This B&B is steeped in history built in the 18th century, On the land owned by the Spencer family, Vincent Van Gogh also lived on the square, so this is not a modern hotel if that’s what you’re looking for, it has steep stairs and smallish rooms, but is full of character, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the hospitality was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious, the pub on the corner is very friendly and only a short walk to the beach."

"Beautiful old building but run down. Cold water not connected to shower and hot water not connected to sink. Needs a thorough cleaning. Carpet needs replacing. No one on duty at front desk. Manager is doing the best he can, very polite and kind. "

"Our double room had the bathroom down the hall, but despite repeated attempts there was no way to shut (or lock) the door from the inside as it was catching badly on the frame. Bath mat in the bathroom wasn't clean. Mirror in the bedroom was leant up against the wall rather than attached, so had to bend over double to use. Small window in the bedroom had no curtain and a light right outside. Noisy room (traffic noise, doorbell of late arriving guests, and could hear upstairs...

" DO NOT BOOK!! Firstly there is no name to the booking it’s just spacious double bed hotel. Secondly the exterior is disgusting mouldy water dripping Everywhere. Thirdly a double booking happened so we had to stay at the owner boat. That was TERRIBLE!! Dust everywhere, and old mouldy smell scented fhe entire place. The were stains everywhere I looked crumbs on everything I sat on and bird crap all over the exterior. I only stayed there with my Partner as everywhere else was fully booked out. I...

"I’d definitely recommend the hotel. The keyless entry didn’t initially work, but the communication with the owner was quick and a new code was sent within minutes. The rooms were lovely and there was a good variety of teas and coffees available. I was worried not having check in would mean that the owners weren’t around, but they did help us figure out how to turn the air conditioning off. The location was fantastic and it wasn’t noisy in the rooms. "

"Very convenient, 20mins away from the town centre, nicely decorated & easy to park. Only reason for not being perfect throughout is the bedding was a bit thin and the electric meter cupboard door was broken so it banged in the wind & kept me up. Otherwise great"
