Great place, great communication and service

A beautiful week in Marathon Key. House was clean and well stocked. We did have a couple of issues (dryer failing and sewer lift pump failing), but Mike was great to resolv these in a matter of hours, even coordinating when we’d be out of the house for minimal disruption. Things happen. What matters is how one responds. Highly recommend this place and we look forward to returning some day.

1 week is not enough

This house is very clean. We could have stayed longer and the location was wonderful. The neighbors were all very kind and personable which made our stay that much better. It is a great location and neighborhood!

Nice house and good location

We had a good stay. Nice house in good neighborhood. Bedroom lights were a little dark. We switched them with living room lamps. That helped. We put lamps back at end of stay. Some window blinds didn’t fully function but no biggie for us. We discovered a homemade ice cream shop one block away. Yum! I would rent again.

Great Access and Spacious!

We loved being at Mike’s place in Marathon. For boaters, the canal exits straight to the Atlantic without long slow-speed zones. Also, the house is much larger in person than it appears in the as pictures. We had two boats and Mike made arrangements for us to overflow the allotted dock space, so no worries there, and he has a large commercial ice machine so we didn’t have to make several trips for ice as we normally do for our weeklong stays in Marathon. Tropical storm Elsa dampened our activities a bit, but we had plenty of room to stretch out and play games and do puzzles while the weather interrupted our spearfishing plans. We had a great trip and this house helped make that possible.

Great house for fishing/boating

This house is perfect for our group. We spend 95% of our time on the water and this house has great access. Less than 5 mins of idle speed and you can be on your way. We stay here every time we visit marathon

Marathon Stay

This is a very nice home on the canal in a nice area, very clean and roomy, lots of windows for great views, only downside is the beds, (little hard and squeeky)

“Fisherman’s Dream” Literally

This is my first review ever, I am not one to leave reviews, good or bad; but my family had such a great stay at this property that it deserves to be shared. The description of the property is spot on, it is literally a fisherman’s dream. My father and husband (the fishermen) wouldn’t stop talking about the convenience of this property; the dock, the location (literally 4 houses down from the Atlantic), the ice machine, the freezer, the fish cleaning station, outdoor grill, etc., they just kept going on an on about the convenience of it all. The house itself was also very accommodating and clean, it has a great sized living area and has a comfortable floor plan. The hosts, Mike and Linda were also great, they responded to all our questions right away. We couldn’t be happier with our stay.

Favorite house in Marathon

I have stayed at many houses in Marathon, and I think this is my favorite so far. Great dock area with fish cleaning station. Ice Machine saved us time and money. Extremely short idle to the end of canal and then run right out of the channel to the Atlantic. Will book again next year.

Nice location

The location of the home on the canal is great. There is a serious ant problem. The owner knows because they have ant bait sitting out in every room. The gross part was the roaches in the kitchen cabinets. I took pictures but it doesn’t let you attach them to this. We did have one in the bedroom too. You get the code to get in but there is no welcome sheet or anything that tells you the do’s and don’t’s of the property. It has a boat lift and we did not know we couldn’t use it. As we were lowering the lift, we hear a guy next door say, “ I’m wondering why that lift is going down”. So we asked. He happened to be the owner. Instead of saying hi guys, I’m your host and I live next door, the lift isn’t part of your rental, he went about it in a rude way. He said we can’t use it for insurance purposes. Well, we quickly found out that we couldn’t use it because he uses it for his boat. That’s fine just let us know before hand and it wouldn’t be a problem. The WiFi password was written down on a piece of paper next to the tv but it doesn’t say what the name of it is. I emailed and asked and he responded it’s next to the tv. Well after going through 10 WiFi names, we finally figured out which one it was. Overall it was a great trip. You just can’t leave anything on the counters without a serious group of ants crawling all over things.
