Beautiful location, house needs TLC
This house could really shine with care, as the property is at a great location and is surrounded by lush greenery. We saw manatees in the canal and the antics of all of the lizards were captivating. The landscaping and view of the canal was gorgeous. It is a very peaceful place. Unfortunately there were minuses to the home itself. We were looking very forward to spending a lot of time in the pool area away from the bugs, but a large portion of missing screening let in a lot of insects. Our son, who has disabilities, was terrified of the interior circular steps so he used the exterior steps only. It would have been very helpful if the listing included a floor plan and a clear showing of the spiral staircase, as anyone who has disabilities should know how narrow that staircase is. The floors were very dirty and oddly the home lacked mirrors. The furniture was old and not very comfortable. The kitchen was large but lacking a lot of essentials; we even had to buy cooking sheets for the oven. Because the home is for sale, the owners might not want to put any money into updating the home, but that's what should be done to make guests comfortable and able to cook without being frustrated at the lack of pots and pans.
