Cleanliness is a major problem
The view was gorgeous and we had a great time.
We did just want to mention a couple of things that were a little bit uncomfortable for us just to make you aware. Firstly, a major problem for us was the black mould in the house. It was visible all over the shower curtains, on a lamp (that we put outside for the weekend) and on some of the walls and ceilings. Obviously it’s not healthy to be breathing in mould so that was a challenge for us. Another cleaning issue was the state of the plates, bowls and cutlery. Most of these had food remnants on them and hadn’t been cleaned properly which is something that should be checked on each turn over in our opinions. The bathroom upstairs had some electrical issues with the light and a few of us got electric shocks when turning on the lights. Overall the house was clearly not cleaned. The floors and surfaces were all dirty, sticky and grimy and we had to do a big clean on arrival to achieve a minimum standard of cleanliness. The state of the front garden made us assume we had the address wrong as it was so unkept.
We knew it was an older house and don’t have an issue with that. We just don’t appreciate the lack of cleanliness and upkeep.
