The room was clean and the bed comfy, but was fairly basic. The bathroom facilities are shared, and while clean, they certainly need updating. It's a fine line between keeping the charm of an old hotel while having modern bedroom facilities. The dining room is lovely and the food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Downstairs amenities were clean and modern, just upstairs needs a little attention. Overall we did enjoy our stay.

The property was right on the river bank, staff very friendly, restaurant food 👍👍👍great atmosphere, the only drawback was having to walk down the long hallway to the bathroom through the night, but we appreciate the fact that this hotel was built in 1900!

We had a pleasant stay at the Pretoria hotel. The staff were friendly and all facilities clean and tidy. The dining area and location were outstanding with beautiful views of the river. We'll be back.

Spent three nights and never once saw any bathroom or bedroom cleaned no daily housekeeping as stated on Expedia no fridge in room had to make coffee on bedside table woken up first morning 7am bottle delivery second morning 7am some idiot vacuuming the driveway not cool won’t stay again but the down stairs bar staff were good and food was good

The hotel was a good cheap place to stay. However there are some things to be advised. There is a steep staircase to climb with no option of an elevator. The bathroom is shared unisex with 2 shower stalls, 2 toilet stalls and a double vanity. Also the floors creak and squeak badly making a lot of noise. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was okay.

overall ok, no toilet attached, a problem for a family. The toilets were clean and available all the time. Nice food and drink. No washing area attached to bedroom/common kitchen, you cant even rinse a used plate. A kettle and tea/coffee items supplied in bedroom, no microwave even in common kitchen, I struggled as I was with family of two kids, wouldn't be a big problem if just bachelors.

I took my family of 4 to stay in a family room. We loved the old pub style stay. It was a genuine old hotel with a clean and comfortable room. The shared bathroom was clean and showers were good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a split system air-conditioning unit and a great ceiling fan. Beds were comfortable and crisp fresh linen was soft and enjoyable. We appreciated the accessibility to the large front balcony and breakfast room. There also was nice toiletries provided with the towels in the room and coffee and tea along with the kettle. On site carparking was appreciated too. Will definitely be back. Great price for a family get away.

Very clean and good rooms... shared bathroom was ok as there was only one other room booked... but still didn’t have shower... wouldn’t be staying if hotel was fully booked

Rooms need towel rails.
The only complaint I have is that there are no towel rails or hooks on which to hang your towels after use. Had to drape damp towel, bath mat & washer over shelves & window ledge. There were a whole wall of towel rails in the bathroom - dont know why, never saw them used.

The room was great but there was a seperate bathroom down the other end of the building. Also, there was no PowerPoint in the bathroom for a hair dryer or shaver either in the bathroom or in the bedroom.

Country pub character
I’ve stayed here twice- both times in room 6. It’s a great spacious room with a queen and a bunk bed. Very clean and a very comfortable bed. Also right next to the shared bathroom. The room has a view of both the Main Street and the river. There’s also a communal lounge/dining room which has tea& coffee and breakfast supplies. The place has a real country pub atmosphere with plenty of character. The staff are lovely and even brought our meals upstairs for us. The location right on the river is perfect for enjoying a beer!

It took 5 staff members to check us in (we had already pre booked and paid), it took another 3 staff members before one would show us to our room, there was no en suite and we would never have booked had we known, the shared bathroom was “eye opening” to say the least, men walking in on you when you were brushing your teeth etc. there was a wedding in progress when we arrived and we were unable to book a meal, we have no problem with that however the wedding would have been booked months before and we should Have been told about booking our meals When we booked the room. The handle fell off the door and we couldn’t get in or out, the staff offered to change our rooms but we had a funeral to attend and a family gathering and it was all too hard. I have to say at this point that the staff couldn’t have been nicer we got a personalised card about the inconvenience relating to the door and a box of chocolates. The room was up a large flight of stairs and no provision for disability or age. We struggled down the stairs at 9 am and there was nowhere to check out, a woman said she would take the room keys but we said we would go to reception (we had no idea who this woman was), she then informed us there was no reception and the hotel did not open until 10am. I have checked thoroughly the details on this hotel and can’t find anywhere that advises shared bathroom/no en-suite.

The only issue I had was collecting the room key which was in the gambling area and I am a single Dad with 2 young kids and they had to wait in another area which I didn't like but apart from that the stay was good, nice location right on the river.

We were told that a continental breakfast was available in the breakfast.When we went to get breakfast there was a family of 4 trying to find something to feed the kids.There was 1 bowl left ,no OJ ,minimal milk and no bread.There was nothing for us to have breakfast and the family said they had to chase bowls etc the day before.Not good enough.Do not offer breakfast if not available.Should be checked nightly against number of people booked in.Most ☹️

Very friendly staff. Riverfront location. Lovely to be able to just head up the stairs after dinner and drinks. Floors a bit squeaky but it is an old building. Beautiful upstairs balcony.

Comfortable and value for money

Staff were very helpful and quick to respond to requests. The live music on Saturday night was really entertaining and enjoyable, with popular favorites and great dance music. The Bistro menu is very popular, and with staff serving more than 70 tables, everything was handled quickly and efficiently. Smiling faces and a good atmosphere at every table, with generous serves and a free salad bar. Only negative was one bathroom shared with other guests, but the views and the hospitality were way above all expectations

Very overpriced, even though it was an event weekend, and found out our friends only paid the basic room price. Room was very basic, bed, open from wardrobe and tv, no chairs to sit on. No available wifi as it was the town wifi we couldn’t get connected. No hair dryer, shared bathroom not cleaned over the weekend. Had to ask for cups in the share area. View from room was roof with air conditioners on. A pity as the rest of the hotel is lovely overlooking the river.

Nice hotel and Restaurant
Every thing was great . I wish they have private bathroom. Shared bathrooms are the only negative. Hotel staff was very helpful and courteous.

A night away on the river.
A very clean and friendly family hotel in the heart of Mannum. Food was of a high standard and located right on the river. Spacious room with shared bathrooms.
