The home was very well equipped, in good condition, and handled our group of 13 people with ease. We prepared most of our meals during the week. The wooded property was fun to explore and we frequented the walk-able beach by Magoon Creek. We found plenty to do in close proximity to the house. It was a great stay.

Lake Life

What a great place to relive the quintessential Lake Mi summer vacation. The house and property were perfectly equipped for gathering friends and family for meals, games and campfires after a day of exploring beaches. The location was great and the owners were helpful with communication. The care taker was nextdoor so we always felt we had someone to call if needed but we really didn’t have any needs. Thanks for sharing your home!

Family get together

The property exceeded our expectations. More importantly, our grandsons loved it. They didn't want to leave. The house is roomy and comfortable, the yard big enough for just about any kind of game, the on-site recreational offerings are extensive, and the short walk to the beach is an adventure that everyone enjoyed. Not only that, but staying on a native plant and tree reserve is a real treat. Look for the chestnut trees. You won't be disappointed.

Best Family Vacation Spot EVER

This rental home was beyond wonderful. ALL the reviews of this property give glowing reports, they are all spot on! Our family of 6 adults and 4 young children (and one dog) had a great time; there was something for everyone, the home was spacious, comfortably accommodating everyone. We cooked most meals in, but it is such a convenient location--near beaches, town, restaurants, grocery stores, the pool in Harbor Village, and the home is surrounded by nature's beauty! Great rental--great hosts, we're planning on coming back! :)

Beautiful property, relaxing stay!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The home itself accommodated our multi-generational family comfortably and kitchen size and amenities allowed us to cook most of our dinners at home for the week as we prefer. The property the home sits on is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting in the back in the evening watching the deer and then roasting marshmallows as it got dark. We also took full advantage of the game room in the garage when we had some rain. The location is excellent for easily heading into Manistee to go to the beach there, or to go down to Nordhouse Dunes for hiking, etc. I have rented many vacation homes in Michigan and this rental was one of the best. In short, the home is clean and comfortable, the property is beautifully wooded and serene, and the location makes it a great jumping off point for many activities. We are already discussing coming back next summer!

Beautiful Home & Property!

We had 3 families staying here! Adults, teens, kids a baby and dogs!!!! We had a wonderful time!!! The home is so accommodating & lacking nothing! The kids had a blast playing in the garage/game room! We loved the hike through the woods to Lake Michigan and loved the beach there! We searched for rocks & sea glass, enjoyed swimming and hanging out on the beach! The home is well cared for as well as the property! Beautiful setting! Communication with the owners was easy! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we hope we can come back again for a family vaca!!!

Great multi-family rental

We ALL enjoyed our stay here very much! Three families, three floors, three living spaces, three full bathrooms! Lots of games and toys for the younger ones, loved the game room with pool table, ping pong, air hockey, darts and foosball. The outdoor living space was great! The yard was beautiful and full of wild life with deer and porcupine wandering through nightly. Lots of bird activity. The walk to Magoon Beach was great for the younger folks while the short drive to the First Street beach was more the grandparents speed! The homeowners and property manager were very nice and responsive to talk with! Highly recommend this home for large family gatherings!

Wonderful stay in Magical Manistee

The home is exactly as described. Everything was very clean and organized. The home was equipped with everything we needed for our 7 night stay with our extended family of 9. The beds were great! It was also nice to have TV's located around the house for those of us that wanted to relax with some TV. The property is beautiful and well maintained. A 10-15 minute wooded walk through the Manistee Forest leads you to a semi-private beach on Lake Michigan. We also spent time at First Street Beach which is a short 10 or so minute drive into Manistee. Having access to the Community Pool (also about a 10 or so minute drive) was a huge bonus! We ended up going almost every day of our trip. We all had a really wonderful time and would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful area and house

We had a great time at this house. So much to do in the area between local beaches, downtown, and pool. We also enjoyed the Arcadia area (dunes and marsh preserve). So many amenities at the house like games, sand toys, kids’ toys, etc. One thing to note for future renters, which we didn’t realize, is that the pool (and hot tub) at the marina is a 10-15 min drive away. It wasn’t an issue, but was just different than we thought.

All enjoyed!

We were pleased with the property and fantastic the trails, vegetation, and the proximity to Lake Michigan. The house was very nice, and our favorite feature was the garage with all the games. There was lots of interaction between teens and adults. Manistee turned out to be a great place to shop, and we highly recomment TG's to eat.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful experience with this rental property. The owner was easy to communicate with and answered any questions we had promptly. As a mother of 4 young children I appreciated that the owner reached out to provide me with information prior to our stay as it really helped with our packing process! She let me know that there was a high chair, booster seat, pack-and-play and a baby carrier available for our use. The house was clean and organized, and ideal for our 3-family group as there was a king bedroom on each level. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the kitchen was stocked! We prepared the majority of our meals at the house, and there was a large selection of cookware and utensils for us to use, including a complete spice cabinet (far beyond the standard salt/pepper/cinnamon selection). Our group included 6 children between the ages of 16 months to 8 years old, and there was plenty to keep them busy including toys, games, puzzles, and the game room in the garage. If you do have toddlers I would recommend bringing a baby gate to block off the stairs to the upper level as the sitting area on the 2nd floor overlooks the living room below, and we were nervous that the younger ones may slip through the wooden balusters. As we had so many young children with us, we did not attempt to walk through the woods to get to the beach, but chose to drive. The Magoon Creek beach was less than a mile down the road, and the beaches in downtown Manistee were only about a 10 minute drive. It was incredibly convenient to have access to the Harbor Village pools. The kids really enjoyed the outdoor pool on a day when the waves on Lake Michigan were quite large. I would definitely recommend this rental! Thank you Sheralyn for the wonderful accommodations!

Great family gathering

This is an amazing property with everything that you would want. We drove from CA for a family getaway and couldn't be happier. The deck, fire pit, the game room/garage, the loft with the kids toys and not to mention a fully stocked kitchen, including a Vitamix! The bedrooms are spacious and one could easily spend a few days in the upstairs bathroom! :-) We packed lunches and spent every day on the beach, which is a quick 15 minutes walk through the tranquil woods. We got pizza one evening from Filmore in downtown Manistee and went to the Sundling Park (3 minute drive) to have a casual sunset dinner. Nights were spent around the fire pit with some Calvados and Bourbon, after dinner on the deck. Sheralyn was the perfect host. She responded to any questions right away. The kids were on the swing and the rope sheared off. I let her know about it. By the time we came back from the beach that evening, it was all fixed for the kids to enjoy the swing again. Game room is a great bonus for rainy days. We played air hockey, ping pong and pool one evening. This was bit more expensive than other properties we were looking at, but it's well worth the price. We are already planning our next summer vacation and intend to stay here again! Thank you Sheralyn!

Wonderful family getaway

5 stars!! Our family truly enjoyed your home and property during our annual summer get together. Because of COVID-19, our home was sanitized and very clean upon arrival. Our favorite places to hang out were the patio and the game room/garage. I especially enjoyed the trail that leads to Lake Michigan. It was our daily exercise to take a walk in the woods. The kitchen was adequate for our family, well stocked with pots and pans, and having the extra fridge in the garage helped so much. Rooms were perfect for our family as everyone had plenty of space. We had never stayed in this part of Michigan and enjoyed being so close to towns and parks. We visited Ludington State Park one day and rented kayaks and paddle boards. Manistee itself is a quaint town with everything we needed for our stay. But we could also spend every day at your home and just enjoy the lake - it's so gorgeous there! Thank you for a fantastic vacation. Owner communication was very thoughtful. If we had any questions, Sheralyn was quick to respond. She really took the time to make sure we had everything we needed. We hope to return in the near future!
