Really lovely large room with sensational balcony and view. Lovely, helpful manager. Amazing breakfasts. Not an en suite bathroom but we were only residents. Love to come back. Hreat walks & surrounds.

If you have the chance to stay at the Mangawhai Lodge, don't hesitate to book. We enjoyed every aspect of our recent two day stay with Jeannette serving as an excellent host. Our room looked out at the ocean and the beach was a short walk away. Restaurants are also close by with an impressive range of choices for a small village. Our only mistake was not booking at least another night.

Super location
The accommodation is wonderful with great views. Jeannette, our host, was lovely and catered wonderfully for my veganism....a super breakfast.

We stayed for just the night and it was a wonderful experience. Beautiful and clean accomodation and our host Jeanette completely looked after us - definitely recommend!

Outside deck and view was great (B&B room) Breakfast selection offered was fabulous Host very helpful and hospitable and had excellent knowledge of the area I would f definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to others

Fijne lodge op een prachtige locatie met een geweldig uitzicht en een goed ontbijt. De kamer was wat aan de kleine kant en onhandig dat de badkamer op de gang was, maar we hebben een fijn verblijf gehad.

Cozy and Welcoming B&B
Great little cozy B&B right in the heart of Mangawhai. Close to lots of activities, at the beach and in the town. We were so warmly welcomed and felt right at home. Breakfast was amazing each morning! Our room had a lovely balcony and view of the ocean, too bad the weather was terrible so we couldn't sit outside to enjoy it. Smaller room but lots of shared living space in the building. Would definitely return!

Great views and the lodge itself was authentic to the area but it was on a steep hill so difficult re: parking. We didn't know how steep it was until we arrived so had to park on the local streets. It wasn't very clear as to where the office was - no signs etc to direct you. Didn't even know it was a B&B until we got there. A little confusing to be honest as to where do we go once inside the lodge. The host was friendly but needed support at breakfast time. Wouldn't go back again sorry.

Best Views in town
An amazing b&b with the most gorgeous views in Mangawhai. Jeannette's breakfast was top end and she was so lovely and accomodating with local knowledge for me. I was staying up there for 2 nights to look at property in the area. Would happily send friends to stay with her, highly recommend. I added pics of sunrise, sunset and day time - beautiful.

Jeannette was superb host. Turned on our heater to ensure our room was warm, had an extensive knowledge of the area and things to do and visit, and cooked us a superb breakfast in the morning.

We were served a very nice breakfast. Great common space. Nice collection of books. Large common living room area. Pretty views of ocean and in the distance. Comfortable bedroom with a wonderful balcony.

Mangawhai Lodge was idyllic! We were treated to the Heritage suite that felt like a superbly comfortable home. We were so entranced with the majestic view, we couldn't leave our balcony. Wonderfully, friendly helpful staff. Thanks Maureen We'll be back!

charming B&B.
Beautiful small B&B with excellent view of Mangawhai. Jeannette and Maureen were very helpful with planning local hikes and with dinner suggestions. Breakfast was outstanding. Homemade compotes and yoghurt and eggs a la minute. Location is excellent, a small market area is a short walk with a 4square and coffee shop.

We enjoyed the two-bedroom unit. Great views and close proximity to Manawhai's Estuary. The unit's kitchen had everything we could possibly need, including a full-size refrigerator. The livingroom furniture has been well-used and was not comfortable to sit on, for us. That would have been more of a problem if we'd stayed longer than one night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Im sorry you did not find the sofa's to your liking we use leather as it is easier to clean and more durable. But we do leave a throw for those who prefer to sit on fabric

Great views and generous breakfast
Great views and convenient to beaches and hiking trails. Would have given it highest marks but there is a pervasive smell like wet carpet throughout. It was cold so we had to close the windows so I drenched a cotton ball in fragrance and left it on the nite lite for air freshener. We appreciated the tv room and communal dining room also with great views.

Apoligies for the wet carpet smell, we had just had them cleaned prior to your stay and unfortunately it took longer to completely dry than we had anticipated

This was the perfect spot to explore Mangawhai heads, some amazing hikes and stunning beaches. Comfortable bed and great shower. Exceptional breakfast included every morning and Jeannette was full of knowledge and good tips of where to go etc.

You must have booked the Clipper B&B room, that room has a private bathroom opposite the room which is dedicated for the Clipper guests. We do try and make it clear that it is not ensuite. So hope your were not too disappointed. Thanks Jeannette

What a view!
We stayed for one night at the Mangawhai Lodge on our way down from the Bay of Islands to Auckland and we wish that we had stayed longer. Our room was ideal and when we awoke in the morning we had the most fantastic view. It made you feel glad to be alive. Our host Jeanette could not have been more welcoming and she made us the most delightful breakfast. All in all, a great stay and we would recommend the Mangawhai Lodge to anyone. We would love to go back.
