A Cozy Mammoth Retreat-Bring the Dog!

Mountain Shadows D7 is a fully remodeled studio condo in a convenient central Mammoth Lakes location. This was the first property I purchased in Mammoth, and I’ve taken a lot of pride in keeping it clean, comfortable and well maintained.

The condo sleeps up to four guests with a queen bed and a queen-size memory foam sleeper sofa. The open studio layout includes a full kitchen, breakfast bar, living area and full bathroom. A wood-burning fireplace gives the condo the mountain feel people come to Mammoth for, and firewood is provided during the winter.

The kitchen is fully equipped for guests who want to cook rather than eat out every meal. There is also Wi-Fi and a Smart TV, along with plenty of room to relax after skiing, hiking, biking or spending the day around town.

D7 is also my only pet-friendly property. Dogs are welcome, but I don’t market this as a “pet rental.” The condo is maintained to the same standard as my other properties and is thoroughly cleaned between guests.

One of the biggest advantages of Mountain Shadows is the location. You can walk to Vons, restaurants, bars, shops and the movie theaters, and the Green and Red Line shuttles provide easy access around Mammoth without having to drive everywhere. The complex also has Jacuzzis, a seasonal swimming pool, saunas and laundry facilities.

The condo has a covered deck and is located on the ground floor, which makes unloading gear and getting in and out especially convenient.

Like most Mammoth condos built in the 1970s, Mountain Shadows has some quirks. The walls are not as soundproof as newer construction, so you may occasionally hear neighboring units. Also, during the winter the deck is primarily used for firewood storage and receives limited natural light because of snow accumulation and the covered location. I would rather point those things out beforehand than have them come as a surprise.

D7 isn't a luxury condo, and I don't try to present it as one. It's a clean, comfortable and well-equipped Mammoth condo in a very convenient location, with a wood-burning fireplace, room for four and the added benefit of being pet friendly. To Note: D7 has heat no A/C.
