Nice location/view but many problems

The home looks recently updated with newer furniture and location/view was nice however you can just tell this property is not well cared for. This is not our first stay with Carolina Vacations but not sure we will stay again. There were ants everywhere, wifi password did not work and because of this we couldn't use the TV. Our bedroom light/fan didn't work, no soap in our bathroom. Porch furniture cushions were just kind of slung around. Porch was filthy. Dishes were visibly dirty, but that should be no surprise because they ask GUESTS to wash the dishes. So who knows if the dishes actually get cleaned.

Not clean!!

This property would have been lovely, but wow was it filthy. Live spiders, hair in the sink, dust, cobwebs, smelled musty and moldy sending our allergies into overdrive. Stains on the pillows and sheets. We didn’t stay one night. They gave us a full refund with no problems though.

Great Stay

We booked a last minute trip to Maggie Valley. This property was perfect for our family ski trip. The villa has been updated and has a great kitchen and living area. It is in a great location - close to the ski area and tubing. We would definitely stay here again.

This was not a good experience.

Property had a 2 step entrance with no hand rail. I informed Rick at Carolina Vacations that my husband had Parkinsons and this was go ing to be a problem. I also told him that the icemaker was frozen up when we arrived. Also told him the deck was filthy, outdoor chairs were filthy and smelled bad. The deck looked like it had not been cleaned or sweeped in a long time. My husband fell while we were there trying to get up the steps. He wasn't seriously hurt, but said he wanted to go home. We left after 6 days having paid for 14 nights. We booked this so called villa through VRBO but for some reason it was picked up through Carolina Vacations in Maggie Valley, NC. It was advertised as a Villa in Maggie Valley Country Club Estates, but the manager at Carolina Vacations said it was not connected with the country club at all and was not a villa, just an older house that had been up rated some.

Great Location in Maggie Valley - House needs work

Nice and cozy, nice comfy beds and great furnishings. Good TV and cable service. Kitchen was well stocked for a rental home. Outside porch was covered in leaves. We cleaned that but also discovered lots of spiders/bugs so we didn't eat outside. Grill needed gas but got that resolved in a day's time. Dryer didn't dry too well and fireplace needed to be cleaned out as the smell of soot was in the home. Spider webs in the corner of the dining room and floors were a bit dirty. We also found a dead moue in the laundry room so that was not fun. This home needs some real attention prior to renters staying here. This is a company run home which is very different from personal owner type places. There is a camera outside to keep an eye on things facing the driveway. Would be nice if they disclosed that. We made the most of it and loved Maggie Valley. Would try to stay with someone else next time.

Nice/clean place to stay

House was very clean and in great condition. Beds were very comfortable. Be sure to follow the directions to the housevthat the realtor gives you and don't follow your GPS, it will get you there but coming in from the other direction makes it so much easier to get in the driveway.

Maggie Valley is a great location.

The weather and the availability of things to do is wonderful. Lots of cute towns around to visit and enjoy. The country club golf course is great. We had a relaxing trip.

The house is NOT clean

I am surprised at all the comments stating how clean the house is! The place is filthy. I hate leaving a bad review but the house ( including laundry room and patio) need to be cleaned! We bought cleaning supplies because we were not calling whoever “cleaned “ it the first time to come back and do an equally horrible job. I expect wear and tear on rental property and am willing to overlook that but when I have to pay a cleaning fee and walk into a place I have to clean myself- it makes for a rough start to a vacation.

Overall lived the property

The house and location were beautiful. It was fully equipped and modern. The only complaint we had, and it is a big one, was the cleanliness of the bedding. The master bed sheets and bedspread were dirty and there was hair on the sheets. We pulled the sheets off to wash them and the mattress was stained. It was obvious that these sheets had not been washed. This was disgusting. We loved the house and if this issue with housekeeping is addressed, we would stay there again.

Quiet Location

We liked the location and privacy of the property. Inside was bright and clean but the deck had not been attended to nor had the laundry room been cleaned. The roads are a bit narrow and steep, not for the faint of heart. The layout of the rooms worked for us and the furniture is updated and attractive.

Great mini vacation

We absolutely loved this rental house! I am flabbergasted as why this rental would rate anything other than a 5 star! I read the reviews before and was worried, but the house met our expectations and was beyond expectations. To the reviewer who was not happy with the hilly drive to the home, you are in the mountains! I would not expect any other drive up to the home! The house was very clean, any and every kind of utensil was available to the rental. We enjoyed the outdoor gas fire pit! The bedroom and bathrooms were above and beyond our expectations, as well. We definitely have saved this home for future stays!! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful place!!

Fairly comfortable

Kitchen clean and function-able. Housekeeping a lot to be desired. Linens and towels were clean. Location good unless inclement weather. Deck very nice. Prefer bed to be softer but no issue.

Immaculate home

The pictures on the web site don’t do it justice. It was tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Had a remote vibe, yet not hard to get to. Lovely view of trees and the other side of the valley.
