Luxury house on creek with waterfalls on 43 acres in mountains!
KnightFall is a three level, luxuriously appointed cabin nestled atop the spectacular Smokey Mountains just below the Blue Ridge Parkway. At an elevation of 4100-4500 feet, the pristine, rugged property is surrounded by an additional 43 undeveloped acres. An exclusive natural waterfall directly adjacent to the cabin resounds with two rushing downhill creeks beside and below the cabin providing a restful, calming cadence from within the beautiful cabin or outside exploring. The waterfall may be lit at night perfectly framed for view from the second floor wrap around porch, master bedroom window, creek bank swing or the Adirondack chairs surrounding the rock fire pit just steps from the first level front door. KnightFall’s beautifully appointed kitchen offers new stainless appliances, gas stove/oven, an abundance of cooking and serving ware to easily accommodate twelve guests. Custom cabinetry crafted from reclaimed barn wood makes this showcase kitchen a joy to prepare your meals. The dining table seats six—with optional seating for eight accessible through French doors onto the second floor wrap around porch. Dinner at a table for two can be enjoyed with a spectacular view of the Falls. Outdoor grilling and breakfast is optional using the popular porch flat grill. This lovely, four bedroom, 3.5 bath cabin boasts an additional sleeping loft, charming den and small barroom with adjoining beverage center. A rock fireplace adds ambiance to KnightFall’s entrance, living and dinning areas. The four bedrooms with queen beds and loft with two bunks are afloat in cotton linens, down stuffed duvets and an abundance of fluffy pillows. KnightFall’s 3.5 bathrooms are luxuriously complete with an abundance of fresh, thick, fluffy towels and toiletries. The second floor master and first floor baths are equipped with large walk-in showers and Toto bidets.
Things to Do: Just 2.5 miles down the dirt/gravel mountain road from KnightFall turn right (South) onto Soco Road less than a half mile to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance on the left. Located at an elevation of 5,820 feet at Milepost 451.2, don’t miss Waterrock Knob— the Parkway's highest visitor center overlooking several major mountain chains in the Appalachians. Water rock is uniquely suited for long- range, breathtaking panoramic views of sunrises and sunsets. The Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians makes this section of North Carolina their home. Backtracking to US19S, and then three more miles south leads to The Cataloochee Ranch & Ski Area on the
left offering sking, dining, and horseback riding. Snow tubing is offered across the road in season. Continuing south through the small mountain town of Maggie Valley where assorted locally owned shops and country dining dot the area. Most famous and delicious is Joey’s offering creative pancakes and other comfort-food breakfasts. Joey’s draws crowds to this circa-1966 diner—wait times in season prevail but it’s worth it. On the left is Maggie Valley Festival Grounds providing events, arts & craft shows, concerts and festivals in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Parking, utilities, concessions and a covered stage is available to host events in season. Well worth your while, turn right from US 19 onto Russ Avenue, US 276S— then three miles further turn right onto downtown Waynesville’s Main Street. Shop at The Mast General Store and a multitude of darling, locally owned art and gift boutiques. Main Street is also replete with small independent resturaunts such as Briar Hall and BooJums Brewery or within a short walking distance our favorites— Chef’s Table, Frogs’ Leap and Sweet Onion. The popular mountain town of Asheville, known for its art district, eclectic shops and great restaurants is less than an hour from KnightFall via I40 East or The Blue Ridge Parkway. Don’t miss the Antique Tobacco Barn for a large offering of antiques and surprising finds and lunch/dinner at Pack’s Tavern or dinner at Vinnie’s Italian. And no trip to Asheville would be complete without a visit to The Biltmore Estate—America's Largest Home, built by George Vanderbilt. Explore the 8000-acre estate and historic house museum. Biltmore House—a Chateau Architectural-style mansion built for George Washington Vanderbilt II between 1889 and 1895 and is the largest privately owned house in the United States, at 178,926 sq ft of floor space (135,280 square feet of living area). Still owned by George Vanderbilt’s descendents, it remains one of the most prominent examples of the “Gilded Age” mansions. About an hour south from KnightFall enter the enchanting Pisgah National Forest. Contained in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina, the 512,758 Forest is administered by the United States Forest Service. Enjoy the winding drive leading to commanding views from a 5,000 foot Observation Deck and dining at The Pisgah Inn restaurant atop The Blue Ridge Parkway April through October. On the other hand, turning left (North) onto Soco Road from KnightFall, you will enter the Cherokee Nation. About a mile away on the left, stop to gaze at the historic Socco Falls where two waterfalls merge in a picturesque setting with a primitive overlook reachable by a short trail. Continuing on you will be in sight of Santa’s Land Fun Park & Zoo on the right, a family tradition and a Cherokee icon for more than 55 years open in late May. About 11 miles from KnightFall in the same direction is The Harrahs Casino & Resort. Continuing on less than a half hour on US 441N is The Cherokee Museum and close beyond the Indian Village commercial area. Less than two hours from KnightFall is The Nantahala Forrest— an enchanting drive and an exciting white water rafting area.
