This cabin was exactly perfect for our patry of 3. It was exactly as described in Vrbo and owner couldn't have been any nicer. It had everything we needed for our weeks stay including a very nice hot tub! Would definitely recommend for a couple or small family.

We could not have picked a better cabin to stay in!! The Lazy Bear was not only beautiful, but had absolutely everything we needed and more!!! And we were some comfy and cozy!! Jane was a wonderful host, very responsive and welcoming! We are very pleased with our stay and look forward to returning to the Lazy Bear

We came to Maggie Valley to visit family and this beautiful cabin worked perfect for my husband and I. It was very clean, comfortable, and cozy and it was less than 10 minutes from where my husbands uncle lives, whom we came to visit. We enjoyed the hot tub, and relaxing in the cozy living room watching tv. WiFi was fast and the Roku tv with YouTube TV access was very nice! Communication with Jane, the host, was easy and she was very informative and responsive. We didn’t have any issues, she just called us to let us know some painting had been done and wanted to be sure we got checked in okay. A few things to note are this is a gated community of cabins/cottages, which is nice! However, there isn’t trash disposal or trash cans in the community, which is explained in the listing details. You have to take your trash to a waste management facility, but it’s only 10 minutes away and just a very minor inconvenience. We knew that up front because it is plainly stated, and probably a necessity to keep bears and wildlife at bay, I’m sure. Also, we had to wash, dry and put away all dishes. Most places we have rented in the past only require you to load the dishwasher and start it, but again, just a minor inconvenience. It was a wonderful stay! It is worth the little extra work because the Cozy Bear cabin is just so cute and one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed it!

Close Yet Peaceful

This cabin is clearly older (no GFCI's in kitchen or bathrooms) but the neighborhood is small and very private. You are just a couple minutes from the middle of Maggie Valley, 45 minutes to Cherokee or Asheville, 15 minutes from downtown Waynesville, which is very nice. You can jump on the GSMNP road in Cherokee to head towards Gatlinburg or Cades Cove. Everything worked as advertised, and Jane, the owner, was always available and extremely helpful. The wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Cozy cabin with a convenient location to Cataloochee

Great little cabin with convenient location. We skied Cataloochee one day and took a day trip to Asheville the next. Easy access to both! The price point and location were the reason we stayed. Great value!

Answer to Prayer

My wife and I had rented a house in Sylva for the week. Without warning the heat stopped working and it was going to take days to fix. We contacted Jane Rolen (property owner) and she very graciously allowed us to stay in her rental in Maggie Valley for the week. It is a beautiful home in a great location. Very worth looking at when visiting the Maggie Valley/Waynesville area. Thanks Jane!

My family and I had a wonderful time. The place was awesome. Beat our high expectations. Will definitely stay here again. Cabin is more than big enough for a family of 4 and cozy at the same time. Couldn't have found a better place for our mountain escape. Close to skiing and tube world.

Lazy Bear was more than we even anticipated. The cabin is beautiful, impeccably clean, with a well-stocked kitchen full of items you’d need for a stay. I loved this place and how clean and quite. It’s close to the hikes, and Asheville as well. The only thing that I wished for is the cabin to be far enough form the neighbors but that was on me for not checking before actually reserving this place but I enjoyed this place and would recommend it.

Lazy Bear

Our stay overall was good. The cleaning crew didn’t get done a minute too soon. As we were checking in, they were leaving. The cabin is cute and cozy. The hot tub was the best part. We loved the fire pit although there were only 3 chairs (4 were pictured), and they sank into the ground when you sat in them. We didn’t like having to fool with taking trash off property the day we were heading home (yes we knew about this ahead of time, but it’s just silly that the cleaning crew can’t do this because you know they will have trash from cleaning!), and having to empty the dishwasher before we left meant we had to have everything clean prior to leaving which isn’t much fun when you’re packing and trying to get out by checkout time not to mention makes cooking breakfast the morning you leave not possible without having to wash all the dishes. That’s what the cleaning crew is for in my opinion. We did get to see elk the morning we left which was a nice surprise. Dog kennel nearby is a bit noisy at times, but that didn’t bother us too much. Loved having the backyard area for kids to run around and play in. Again, overall we enjoyed our stay other than the dishes and trash upon leaving.
