  • This beautiful, pet friendly, 2 bedroom plus 2 Bonus Sleeping areas 3 and half bath log cabin is just waiting for you. Its charmingly decorated and has comfortable furnishings, TV with Roku only, DVD player, pool table, beautiful views and much more.
    Just minutes to local attractions including Cataloochee Ski slopes, shops, golf, dining with great year round access and plenty of parking. Beautiful views surround you from the long range mountains and pastures. This home is furnished with one king, one queen, three full beds, one twin, one sleeper sofa, one futon and 3.5 baths. Open year round.
    Come on in and kick back in the great room with inviting and comfortable seating by the beautiful stone gas fireplace where you can keep warm on nippy mountain evenings. Here you can watch a movie on the flat screen TV with VCR and DVD player or just hang out with your family and friends.
    This well equipped kitchen has all the conveniences of home to make everybody’s time in the kitchen a breeze. A refrigerator with ice in the door, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster and more makes cooking and clean up simple.
    The master bedroom located on the main floor has an inviting king size bed for a peaceful night of rest. The master has a private bath.
    Layout:
    The master is located on the main level and has a king size bed and has a full bath with tub. Also a ½ bath with full size washer/dryer is located on main level.
    The upper level features the loft area with game table. A bedroom with a queen size bed and a second room with a twin over full bunk bed. There is a full bath with tub/shower on this level as well.
    The lower level features a game room with pool table and a room with 2 full size beds and a full size futon. There is a full bath with tub/shower on this level as well. Access to the garage.
    Our apologies but the hot tub on site is non-working at this time.

Overall it was a great location and slept everyone comfortably. Does need some updating to the inside and sone things need to be fixed on the exterior, but we did enjoy our stay very much!! Melissa (property manager) was great with communication and super sweet!!

We had a great time. Cabin was clean but needed some updates. HVAC did not work it had window air conditioning in all bedrooms and living room. So you heard ac running all night trying to sleep. If HVAC was fixed I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Beautiful

We LOVED this cabin the location was excellent and my children loved seeing the Elk. The staff is amazing! We will be back next year with more family members too. It was quiet out there with so much to do there. Thank you!

Beautiful location, but home needs some upgrades/maintenance

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are very happy with Premier Vacation Rentals and their service. Melissa is a pleasure to deal with, very accommodating and competent. We have used Premier Vacation Rentals numerous times in the past and will continue to use them in the future. However, here is a list of Pros and Cons regarding our rental of Salty Dogs Hideaway:PROS- The house was very clean when we arrived.- The house was well stocked with everything that we needed.- The house has a terrific view of the mountains and there were cows and elk which were visible from the porch, and we saw them on a daily basis.- The house is in a beautiful little housing development which is very close to all the stores and restaurants. It has easy access, with no steep roads to deal with.- The house was fairly large and had ample room for many more house guests. CONS- The house was fairly dark in the evening. The main chandelier in the living room had 8 bulbs in it, but only 3 were actually operational, 5 were burned out. There were extra bulbs in a drawer in the kitchen but there was no ladder available. Due to its height, I was unable to replace the bulbs myself without a ladder. There was only 1 "working" lamp in the upstairs and main living area of the house. The kitchen was somewhat dark, as were the bedrooms.- All the beds had foam mattresses which were fairly uncomfortable.- The porch is in a state of disrepair and needs to be resurfaced (raised nails etc.), especially the portion which is not covered by the roof overhang. The 5-step staircase getting to the porch from the driveway also needs to be reinforced and/or rebuilt. There was only one outside porch light that was operational. This was outside the entrance door. The remaining outside porch lights on the north side were not working, even though I replaced the bulbs. As a result, I always had to use a flashlight to see at night, when getting to, and stepping down/up the porch stairs.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental process was a cake walk, the rental how ever is not the same as in the pictures or the description. There are reviews from over a year ago and the same issues are still there. The birds in the wall in the master bathroom, the missing chairs at the table (they are broken in the garage, why not get rid of them?)the roku does not work , the hot tub does not work correctly, and the jacuzzi tub absolutely does not work at all. The pictures on the advertisement are not even the same color as the house now.....

Shabby

In my opinion, if this beautifully-built house had been furnished and maintained accordingly, it would have justified the market rent advertised, and maybe even the additional fees of 48% of the rental cost. It wasn't, and it didn't. Shamefully neglected. Poor value.

Overall nice

Furniture was a little outdated. Beds definitely need new mattresses. Ceilings fan did not work in one of the bedrooms and the tv did not work in one of the bedrooms. Steps are in need of repair. They have loose boards. Location was great. Over all we would stay again.

Great experience!

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Location was great for skiing and snow tubing! Plenty of space for our girls, their husband's, and our grandkids!

Great Experience

Perfect stay and experience. This cabin was just what we were looking for in a family gathering in Maggie Valley. The views of the surrounding mountains were just what I wanted and we looked forward to waking up every morning and having coffee on the porch. The cabin was super easy to drive in and out which was important for my parents as they didn't want to drive up mountain dirt roads. Lots of fishing nearby, waterfalls, ect. Would book again.

But the bedding was not comfortable. The Master has a king size that was ok but all the other bedding is old,sunk-in, and lumpy. The lighting Was dark and did not work out side so we had to use flashlights to enter at night. We liked the location and would stay again if the bedding was updated.

Beautiful vacay home

We loved the large log cabiin home and will surely return next summer. There were a few issues but we were able to solve them to our satisifaction (ants were a big problem on main level but found that using Irish Springs soap works well). We did feel the pictures showing the home were a bit deceiving such as a big yard for our dog to play as well as our 10 year old granddaughter, neighbors were so close that we could see them in their home- all were very friendly but to close, the kitchen, even though workable,was not nearly as large as what we thought and we found no ping pong table as listed. As stated we did enjoy our stay, beds were comfortable, furniture was okay but the living room furniture has lost its support. The daily highlight was feeding the cows- right from of our lower deck and walking down to the meadow to watch the elk come out . It was a plus that we had trash pick-up.The kitchen has basic cookware although we did go and purchase dish cloths and dish towels... and we could not find a pitcher for lemonade/tea but we made do. I think most families would enjoy this home like we did, just beware that things aren't always has the appear. We will be back Salty Dog!

Overall the stay was great! Some things at rhe cabin were dirty upon check-in ( grease on the stove and microwave, basement windows had soot all over them from the fire pit, and the pillows were stained really bad. The lighting in the cabin is not good at all, and the lights in the basement bedroom didn't work at all. But, overall it was good and I would go back.

Reviewer Comments: Overall a decent stay,, several things did not work including multiple outdoor lights, the whirlpool tub and the hot tub was mediocre at best. There was a horrible smell in the kitchen area once we arrived and the sheets in the master bedroom were stained so we went and purchased new ones for the stay. Access was easy and it was located in a pleasant neighborhood.
