The reality of the place was much better than the pictures. It was so convenient to where we needed to go. A bonus was thet Emu Ridge was just 5 minutes away.The house is very solid and well stocked. Little poochie approved of the place as well. She had a well fenced yard to roam in. Thank-you for sharing this wonderful place.Darlene and Alex

A truly warm and welcoming stay in a comfortable, pet-friendly home surrounded by stunning nature and local wildlife. The location made it easy to explore nearby attractions, and the hosts were excellent—friendly, responsive, and made everything seamless. A lovely getaway experience all around.

This property was very comfortable. It had everything you need to make it your home. It was centrally located on KI and not far from Kingscote, which provides all amenities required. We were on KI for 10 days, so we could cover most tourist attractions on day trips as well as spend some days to just relax. Thanks to the hosts to provide such a great property.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful, fully equipped farmhouse! The property is perfect for families, with plenty of space for our kids to explore. They loved the swing set, and we enjoyed watching ducks, bees, and even kangaroos right out the front. The variety of birds was also a real treat. The house itself is spacious, with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, so everyone had plenty of room. It’s also conveniently located – just a two-minute drive to Emu Ridge, where we enjoyed great coffee and delicious damper. The DVD collection was a fun bonus for cozy nights in. The island is easy to get around, and overall, this place made for a perfect, relaxing getaway. Highly recommend!

Fantastic place if you want to relax away from it all in your own private retreat. Great walking around the property, reading books, relaxing but also close enough to the beaches and tourist areas when we wanted to get out. Property was nice and clean for us.

We loved the location, quiet but accessible to attractions. The hous had everything you could want for self catering. We would have preferred to have been able to use the double beds in each room as opposed to the single ones. However the beds were comfortable but small.

Our family loved our stay here, plenty of room for our family of four and could accommodate a lot more. Kids loved riding their bikes around the property and going down to the dam. Our fur baby loved the big front enclosed garden. Will definitely be back again rebaagain

very quiet house in a beautiful bush location ,lots of bird life ,nice walks around the property ,clean and tidy house ,with everything that you need ,will go back again at sometime ,my 2 friends that stayed with me loved it very much ,not very far from Kingscote ,for supplies if needed

Great home with lots of positives (linen included was great). Unfortunately the fridge broke on the first day and no solution was provided by the owners apart from ‘no one on the island can fix it’.

We stayed five nights. The fire was layed out ready to light when we arrived with plenty of extra fire wood. Given this was a winter trip it was certainly appreciated.

Lovely and spacious home. Great for a large family or multiple groups. Excellent secluded area for my dog to relax. Dartboard and playground was a fun extra for the kid.

We had a lovely stay at Hilltop Lodge. A beautiful, clean well supplied home with room for everyone and our energetic chocolate Labrador. Large enclosed dog run, along with a large fenced grassed space for our dog to enjoy. Central location, with amazing views in a quiet rural area. We will definitely be recommending Hilltop Lodge to friends and family!

The house is more a property than a house, located a drive from everything and wonderfully quiet until the possums wake up. The house has an older personality and is well stocked, but bring a sharp knife. One negative was a mouse in the kitchen and a dead mice in the living room. The host was responsive in communication and took no further actions than already placed bait.

This lovely property is in the middle of everything but also quiet and private. Perfect for star gazing. 4 toilets were needed by us but it was a large house that can fit many more people and dogs.

Very central to everything including fishing, house is fantastic and so well set up. Had the mutt with me and he had a great time too. Loved the Tim Tams! Plus it was sooo quiet. Did cheese tastings, wine tastings, Under the Fig Tree Tree Lunch, ( book well in advance!) fishing. Great experience with great no hassle accomadation! Great time

Hilltop Lodge is located on rural property about 20 minutes from Kingscote, and 10 minutes from the airport. It is superbly located for undertaking day trips to all corners of the Island. It is supremely quiet and restful, the peaceful atmosphere punctuated only by the odd welcome crow or magpie call. Wildlife, such as koalas can be seen in nearby trees. The house itself is very well set up for larger family or friends groups. The four bedrooms can be configured in different ways, and the three spotless bathrooms ensure that everyone can get a good hot shower. The house was very clean and tidy on arrival, with everything set up as we requested. The BBQ ran out of gas, but a phone call to John quickly solved the issue when he told us where to find a spare full gas cylinder. Great service. We were a party of eight adults. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would have no hesitation in recommending Hilltop Lodge for a holiday stay.

Hilltop has everything you could want for a group of friends or a large family. Unlike some other properties that can sleep 8 or more Hilltop has seating, dining, cutlery, crockery and space to make life easy for a crowd. Highly recommended

The Rocks weren't the only thing that we found remarkable about our trip to KI! This house was a perfect place to rest at the end of each adventurous day on the island. It exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you so much, Barbara and John - you have a wonderful place and you are so kind to share it with us travellers.
