Nice stay

We enjoyed our time in Lynchburg and had a great stay. The beds were comfortable, and there was no noise from the downstairs tenants as mentioned in another review. Overall great stay.

Great stay

The overall experience was great! The only minor issue was that the stairs to the property were difficult for my mother who's an amputee. Besides that the stay was perfect and the owner was more than accommodating and helpful.

Weekend trip

The location of this rental to Lynchburg University was perfect. We were in town to watch some lacrosse games there and could walk to the field - 0.4 miles. We did host dinner one night and there did need some additional items from my daughters house, like a cheese grater and steam pot, but nothing I would normally expect in a rental. Hosts were very communicative.

Nice top floor of a 2 story duplex. Clean, modern, can be noisy if bottom (B) unit is occupied.

We enjoyed our stay. The unit was clean and modern, with a very capable kitchen, nice bathroom, and plenty of hot water. Here are a few notes that may help other visitors: 1. Ask for the complete set of house rules before booking since they are not published on the VRBO listing. We first saw them in a book on the kitchen table when we checked in. One rule which impacted us was that you are not permitted to set the thermostat above 72 degrees in winter or risk "damage to the unit". There was a corresponding limit for AC in the summer. 2. There are no dressers, just one nightstand with 2 drawers. There are closets with some hangers. We just lived out of our suitcases. 3. If you plan to do any work, you may want to bring your own folding tables and chairs. We brought 2 of each and were very glad we did. There unit has one chair, one tiny table, and a kitchen table w/2 benches. 4. This unit is the top floor of a 2 story duplex. Since the B unit is directly below, we heard everything the neighbors did and said and they heard us. The sound comes through the floor and the vents. Bring earplugs & headsets or sound machines for everyone just in case the B unit is occupied. There is a house rule for quiet time between 10pm - 7am, but if you need relative peace to work, read, etc. during the day, plan accordingly. Overall it was a fine stay and we would recommend the unit as long as you plan for the issues above.

Wonderful stay!

The city is very slow paced compared to where I live. I live in a much bigger city. Yet there is still so much around to do! If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life I definitely recommend this home. The place is equipped with so much so you don’t have to worry too much about going out to get things. Definitely recommend this place!

Me, my wife, and my 2 kids ages 20 and 16 stayed at this property as we visited family. Because my kids are basically young women, this property was perfect because they had their own room. The property was clean, organized, and had all of the necessary amenities you would need to cook, clean, watch tv, surf the web, etc. The location was very convenient as we were only 15-20 aways from several of our families homes. The downsides were very minor...the pillows were small and not very comfortable. Also, the trundle bed was not that comfortable to sleep on. Lastly, we parked in front of the house but was a little concerned because there was a sign that said "permit parking only" in front of the house and we did not have a permit. But there were no issues at all. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and recommend the McCausland home for anyone that is going to have a short stay in the Lynchburg area.

Graduation Stay

My family and I stayed at this location for my graduation from Liberty University. It was a great location in a quiet neighborhood and was centrally located to everything we needed. There were a few little things that could have been improved....i.e. - there was no sponge in the kitchen, no soap or any shower essentials, and no chairs to enjoy the back deck. These are simply small improvements that could be made to help elevate the stay for the guests. That being said, I would stay here again if in the area.
