Awesome

Our 6-year old wishes we could live here... that says it all. Wonderful place. The riverside area is gorgeous. The house actually looks better for real than in the photos. Very comfortable. Andy was super helpful answering our numerous questions.

Wonderful Retreat!

This is a great cabin on the river! Very clean and excellently stocked. It had everything we needed! Let friendly. Our dogs loved the pet enclosure and it was great having it right off the deck. The owner checked on us after a storm to make sure everything was good. We will definitely be returning!

Beautiful

The cabin is wonderful and the grounds are amazing. Unlike other spots along this road, we had cell service. Everything is there that you would need. Bring a couple more rolls of TP and paper towels. The screened in porch is the perfect place to eat, watch the river, play games. Beds are comfortable with extra blankets if needed. Convenient to Skyline Drive, Luray, the caverns, and hikes.

Beautiful and Private

This cabin was a perfect get-away for us and our dogs. We had to travel for a funeral and decided to combine it with a little down time. The kitchen is well-equipped, the bedrooms are super comfortable. We LOVED the fireplace. And the property was great for the dogs to run and play. Our only regret is that we weren't there in the warmer months so we could do more outside. There was a fantastic trail not to far from us that we recommend!

Amazing Getaway

It was really nice to disconnect and just be in nature. Watching old movies by the fire was probably the highlight. it was too cold to fish but would love to return in the summer time!

Wonderful Getaway

While there was a miscommunication between the owner and the cleaning crew resulting in us arriving to a dirty cabin at the beginning of our stay, Andy was very responsive and got someone out to get the place spotless within an hour. This is a very secluded spot and very quiet. The cabin was cozy and well-kept as well as the dog run. Our favorite feature was the gas fireplace! Just note that there are a LOT of muddy areas on the property near the river due to recent flooding in the area, so we weren't too comfortable hanging out in those spots. However, we had a very nice stay and would return again!

We love Smile Inn!!

We love Smile Inn. This was our 3rd trip there. It's in a great location. So quiet & the property is perfect. We saw eagles, a bear, deep, baby racoons... Andy, the owner, is so responsive.

Relaxing stay on the river

Rustic cabin on the river. We are guessing the cabin is located around mile 21.5 (for those who will kayak/canoe). This was our 4th stay at this cabin and 13th annual Shenandoah visit. The cabin has all the basics and a wonderful view. We enjoy how secluded this house is. Bass fishing directly in front of the cabin is decent. We enjoy just throwing a tube or chair directly into the water and relaxing. Wildlife is abundant near the house. Lots of games and books available. We enjoyed playing games on the screened in porch every evening. Make sure you bring your own hand soap (none available) dishwasher pods (none available) toilet paper (only 1 roll for a week) and paper towels (only 1/2 roll left for a week). The positives of this house definitely outweigh any negatives.

Smile Inn over the River

The property had everything that you could possibly want, a canoe, two kayaks, life jackets of all sizes, several inflatable tubes, and lots of firewood for the fire pit. Very comfortable accommodations.

Absolute perfection!

Smile Inn Over the River was everything that we hoped for and more. The set up of the property with the doggie run, the deck overlooking the river and the screened in porch were the reasons we choose this as our get-a-way destination, but the cabin it's self was perfect too. It was clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything that we needed. Communication with the host was excellent who even accommodated our last minute decision to stay an extra night. We had absolutely no complaints and can't wait to come back again!

Shenandoah River Trip

We had a great time at the Smile Inn, we caught a ton of fish and spent most of our time on the river. Great location on the river for fishing and canoeing, also being at the end of Page Valley road was a plus for privacy and dust!
