We enjoyed a terrific ski weekend with our adult kids at this home at the beginning of March. The view is amazing. We could see Mt. Washington from the windows on our first day, which was very clear. Views of haze and snow followed and were equally beautiful. This home is close to town, yet secluded and peaceful. Each evening, we enjoyed the fireplace on the main level after skiing. Kitchen had everything we needed. We played games on the cozy lower level with twinkling lights circling the room. Guests may not use the wood stove in the game room, but a YouTube fireplace video and good music were a fine substitute while we played board games and foosball. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean, modern and nice. Bring your own wood (or grab some at Shaw’s) for the fireplace and a 4WD vehicle is a must for that driveway in the winter. Minutes from Ludlow center. We researched great places to eat in town (10 min away) but wound up staying right in this awesome house all weekend. Ten minutes from Okemo.

Great house about 10 mins from Okemo. Easy to get to and close to downtown. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials. Entire house is clean and very well furnished. Beds are comfortable. A run-in shed is full of fire wood. Definitely recommend anyone planning a fire to bring some starter blocks as wood is very green. A small axe would help create kindling too. As others have mentioned, there is a mild smell of septic by the back door only outside, however this was at 10-20 degrees. I would imagine it would be stronger in summer. Note- as of Feb 14 2026, the clothing dryer was marked broken. Not a deal breaker but dont plan to wash your ski gear here. Lastly, the first floor has radiant heat throughout. The distribution valves for the water lines is broken so the first floor wont get above 66 degrees without the fire place burning. Not an issue for us but could be for others. Aside from very few inconveniences we would definitely return. The views are magnificant!

A terrible stay at Ludlow/Okemo - stay away!!!

My husband and I had a terrible stay at this property and have been having a terrible experience with Vacasa since about our reimbursement. We will never rent from Vacasa again!!! When we arrived a day later than expected - there was no heat in the house on the ground floor where our bedroom, kitchen, living room were and it was 13F degrees outside. We contacted Vacasa and the local property manager told us to wait for the heat to turn on, we waited for hours it never did. It turned out the sensor was broken and he fixed it the next day. We had to wear our coats to be downstairs. Next day there was a snow storm and we went skiing. When we came back the driveway wasn’t plowed and our 4 wheel drive got stuck in a very steep driveway (no mentioning of an extremely steep driveway in the description). We had to get AAA and a plow to come to the rescue. After the sensor was fixed, the heat kicked in, but then the house smelled of sulfur for the night. We left the next day. When we contacted Vacasa manger for the refund he told us to email a contact at Vacasa who never responded. I then contacted Vacasa directly and they told me that someone is going to contact me about this horrible experience and nobody ever did. We got a refund for one night and nothing else. Also the per night charge was misleading on VRBO as there were extra very large charges directly from Vacasa. We rent in Okemo regularly and never had such a bad experience. Never again in this house and Vacasa!!!

The cabin is indeed private, warm and cozy with plenty of space for 7 adults. The appliances in the kitchen are updated and mattresses are comfortable. We were very disappointed with the unpleasant odor in the house (septic) that was difficult to mask with scented candles and cooking. We contacted the Vacasca representative our first full day in the home and were expecting a phone call for an onsite inspection that never happened

Convenient location to okemo

We stayed in the property for 2 nights. It was a short drive from okemo ski resort. The home is clean and lots of entertainment. Kitchen is pretty well equipped. The home is on top of a steep driveway so make sure you have 4WD if you go in the winter. Only complaint is that the didn’t have any firewood in the house for the fireplace. We did ended up getting some on our own and I’m still waiting for them to reimburse me.

Okemo Ski Week

The house was just as shown in the photos and the view is fantastic. Clean and and thoughtfully set up with a cool game room in the basement. It was clear the basement fireplace wasn't for guests but would've been nice to know the main floor fireplace was also out of service. It was a snowy week but the driveway really wasn't an issue with awd; and they plowed a couple times too. Really liked the location and knew where it was from the vacasa listing but note that it's not a 12min walk to Okemo as indicated on vrbo Enjoyed the house and would certainly stay again on our next visit!

Fun 3-day weekend in the cozy cabin

Cabin was perfect for our family of four (plus dog) to enjoy a 3-day weekend in Ludlow, VT. Great proximity to downtown and skiing at Okemo. Our family loved the games and TV in the basement. Only downside was that the fireplace was not working, which would have been very nice for the cold nights we had. Owner was very responsive with questions as they came up throughout the weekend. Highly recommend this property and would definitely consider returning in the future.

Great home in a great location. Bugs were a problem on the first day and then off and on. The pool table cues were all broken. Other than that it was a terrific place.

Great views from front porch, private

We just returned from a stay at this home (June 2023). The views from the front porch were great, with beautiful sunrises and different views depending on the weather which was cool. We also were able to go out at night and watch the stars. The property was easy to get to, the driveway leads up the hill to the property which is secluded and private. Our family of four and our dog felt comfortable and enjoyed this home. Positives for us were the views, game room, comfortable and clean beds, and reasonably stocked kitchen. Overall the house was clean but had a few areas that needed more attention. This was brought up to the property manager and he immediately called and followed up to remedy the issues. Some things that need attention- the dining room chairs (could use tightening), the front right burner on the stove does not work, and the kitchen although very well stocked, could use a few things which I brought up to the property manager. We would definitely return if in the area.

Wonderful house with awesome view

Such a lovely cozy house. Just came back home after spending the Meorial day weekend over here with family of 7. Clean house with well stocked kitchen, lovely porch with panaromic view of the mountains. The cozy basement with pool table, foosball/pingpong table, and other games was such an added bonus. The huge TV in the basement was nice to watch movie with the entire family. The house is just 4 miles from Ludlow town. I just had couple of minor things that I called the Vacasa office for them to record. 1. The Start button on the Microwave for some reason was responsive only 1 out of 5 times. Every time we had o use the Microwave, we would select the time or other options and the Start button would not respond. We had to cancel and then try again for couple of times before it worked, It was a bit annoying. 2. Two our of the three bathroom doors would not lock (the alignment of the notch to the whole was off). There two were very minor issues, but wanted to let the property manager know so it can be taken care of. On the whole, we loved our stay here, and would consider this house for any future vacation plans to this area in Vermont.

Great Cabin with a View!

Great getaway cabin with short drive to Ludlow and Okemo Ski Resort! Perfect for friends and family. Make sure you have all wheel or 4 wheel drive if you come in the winter. Long steep driveway.

Great stay

This was for family ski trip and location was convenient. It is less than 10 minutes away from Okemo and to Main Street in Ludlow. There are review from 2021 regarding poor internet and the billiards and foosball being in disrepair. This must have been fixed since as the wifi was reliable and noticed no issues with the recreation options in the basement. It is perfect for a family with kids. The fireplace made it cozy. I would stay again.

VT annual summer golf trip

As listed, accommodations worked very well for 4 guys all needing their own bed. Remote, quiet location with a great mountain views. We rented in August for 5days/4 nights at a reasonable rate. Kitchen area was good with many general appliances coffee maker, toaster, microwave, pots/pans, dinnerware and utensils but there was no outdoor grill and the dishwasher was broken and has been broken for over a month as I read about it in an earlier review, should have been fixed by now. All curtains and blinds have been removed from the windows (selling house) and some of the windows didn't have screens so they could not be opened in August to cool the rooms but ceiling fans in every bedroom help. Beds were all comfortable but bunk beds do not work well for adults. Finished cellar is really nice but while we were there it smelled like a basement (damp). The large screen TV was located in the basement and a smaller TV in the family room on the main floor, might want to switch that if cellar is always musty. All in all, the house worked very well for us noting that we were gone most of the day for golf.

great getaway

The view is absolutely amazing. The house is nice, well kept. I really had a great stay. There were only two downfalls i can think of. Except the bedrooms none of the windows have any curtains, blinds or shades, which i found to be very uncomfortable at night. The bed in the master, in my opinion was very uncomfortable i tossed and turned both nights i stayed. The also have a hot tub that isnt mentioned and cant be used :-(
