We have stayed here before. Loved that it was on the bayou and the kids were able to catch some nice fish! The cottage had everything you needed and more. Two bathrooms were great! We had a great time.

Had a wonderful stay at this clean, well-stocked and cozy cottage on the Hamlin Lake Middle Bayou. Close proximity to Ludington State Park (which we frequented for hiking, kayaking and swimming), downtown, and nearby towns and areas as well (Pentwater, Manistee, Arcadia Marsh, etc.). Had a lot of fun fishing off the dock with our 10-year-old too and enjoyed the serene setting on the water. Laura was a wonderful host and her response times were almost instantaneous, and she has thought of everything for hosting and providing guests with helpful and fun amenities for their stay. We loved our time there for a family vacation and hope to return again soon!

Perfect getaway.

Hamlin Lake is beautiful! Great view. The house was clean and larger than I expected. Short drive to Ludington. Wish the we could have stayed longer. Would definacome back.

Incredibly well stocked in a perfect location.

Such a perfect spot to relax. On the water with the docks. Great fishing and so well stocked in the house. They had everything! We launched our boat at the state park and kept it on the dock for the long weekend. The bridge clearance is tight with a 22 foot walk around. Take the rods and top down. Need less than 1.5 foot draft and the motor way up to get under the bridge.

July 4th Vacation

Staying in this cottage was a great experience. VERY clean and the most well equipped VRBO I have ever been in. The description online was accurate, it is right on the water and getting into Hamlin Lake was very easy. We have a 23 ft. boat/trailer so that made parking a slight challenge, but we managed. Thank you for a great week.

Great access to Lake Hamlin

The cottage was very nice. Very clean, well kept, modern, comfortable. Better stocked kitchen and bathroom than probably any Vrbo we have rented. Really appreciated not having to bring toilet paper, paper towels, and basic things like salt and pepper. Access to the lake is fantastic! We caught plenty of fish and loved having such easy boat access with the dock right there. We also appreciated not having a long list of chores to complete before we left. The only real con to the property for us was the proximity to neighbors and the smallness of the yard as well as the parking situation. The yard looks bigger in the pictures than it actually is, and the neighbors are nice but very close. (We listened to the neighbor cut down tree stumps with a chain saw right outside the bedroom window for 2 days.) The parking situation was also a little cramped. It’s a shared driveway with the neighbor, and we were blocked in and had to ask them to move once.

Clean, cozy, and well stocked!

We have stayed in many rentals….none as well stocked as Bayou Bungalow. We try to leave a rental better than we found it … but there was nothing extra we could have done or stocked. Great stay. We would return!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

Our family absolutely loved our stay at the cabin on the lake. We were able to catch many fish right from the dock. The water on Hamlin lake was very rough during our stay so we used our kayaks on the bayou and it was perfect. The cabin was fully stocked with EVERYTHING and was very clean. The neighbors are very nice too. We will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely fantastic time

This was our 3rd time staying at this lovely cottage and we will definitely come back. If I could rate this a 10 I would! The new bed was so comfy! I also loved the addition of the swing! I sat outside swinging, reading and enjoying the beautiful lake view every day. Randy fished everyday. Being able to dock the boat right outside your back door can't be beat! The cabin is so well furnished with everything you could possibly need. The only con I can think of is that 2 weeks wasn't long enough! Thank you Laura! See you next year!

Just bring your boat & swimsuit

This house was perfect for 2 couples & 2 kids. I have never rented a house as well stocked as this one. Full kitchen, linens, week supply of paper products, cleaning supplies, trash bags, and even firewood. We really only needed clothes, swimsuits, and boating/fishing gear. Location on middle bayou is great. We will definitely come back to this property the next time we’re in Ludington!!

Amazing Stay and location

We absolutely LOVE our time here! We are repeat vacationers to this location. Owner is amazing, neighbors are amazing, location is amazing. It is such a treat to be able to fish right off the dock! We will be back again for sure!
