Tolles Haus, tolle Umgebung

Wer in der nördlichen Toskana ein ruhiges Haus in den Hügeln über Lucca sucht, hat hier alles was er braucht. Traumhafte Lage, sehr gute Ausstattung. Wir haben den Urlaub voll genossen

Delightful House in the Hills

This property is as it appears in the pictures. Situated about 8 km out of Lucca up narrow twisting roads.The first drive there is a little startling, but you get used to it amazingly quickly. The four adults, two children loved the location,the breeze, the peace, the calm,the space in the living room, dining room area, the pool, and the fireflies.. we adored the outside patio and ate every meal there overlooking grapes, olive trees and Lucca in the distance. There is no A.C whichwas not a problem for us in May. You need a car to stay here. There was, sadly, an ant infestation when we were there, which, I hope, has been dealt with.For North American visitors:note there is no coffee, dishwasher or laundry soap, to get you going,and no dish clothes or extra toilet paper. The host sends good instructions how to find the property, but we found the best way was to enter Villa Santo Stefano into the GPS, and the property is about 300 metres past it on the right.

Omama¨s holiday

Das Haus ist im typischen Toskana Styl eingerichtet. Unterscheiden tut sich dieses Objet von den anderen in vergleichbarer Preislage in der Liebe zum Detail was dem Ganzen noch eine härzige und liebliche Ambiente vermittelt. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen und verweilen, speziell auch dann, wenn das Wetter seiner Laune trotzt. Die Eigentümer wohnen direkt oberhalb Agli Orti. Wenn man Hilfe oder Unterstützung benötigte, waren sie zur Stelle. Wichtig; man hatte nie das Gefühl, das man unter Beobachtung steht! Das Haus befindet sich auf einem typischen toskanischen Hügel, sehr abgelegen und ruhig. Etwas nachteilig, wenn man Ausflüge machen will, man ist zwingend auf ein Auto angewiesen. Aber im Grossen und Ganzen, sehr empfehlenswert.

Although villa and pool are not shown together we assumed they would be close and not in garden of house above. This was a little disappointing at first but adapted. We think this should be stated in description. A lovely villa with beautiful views but the two trees beside need to go and bushes kept lower so full view can be completely enjoyed.

Beautiful country house

Very clean and beautiful country house with a nice view over Lucca. The interior is country style and blends very well into the style of the villa. The house has a terrace to sit on for drinks, dinner or BBQ. The pool, however, is a few steps up the hill as it belongs to the main house of the owners. Sharing is no big deal though as the pool and garden are quite big and the owners are very friendly. The location is quite remote and getting to the house requires a bit of a drive over narrow and winding roads. To get to restaurants thus almost always requires driving by car (there is one restaurant about 1.5 km away that could be reached by foot). A bit of a downside is that there are burglars in the region and valuables should better not be left in the house when being away during the day. During our stay we did not have any trouble, though. We would recommend the villa.

Bastante bien,el propietario debería de hacer un mapa de como llegar y no una descripción haciendo referencia a lugares,muy confuso.Si no tomas el camino correcto,llegas por un camino muy estrecho.El lugar es muy tranquilo y con vistas muy bellas.Queda muy cerca de Lucca, una ciudad bella, en donde hay mucho que ver y hacer.Es una casa de la campiña muy sencilla,sin lujos.

Schönes Landhaus

Wir waren mit 4 Personen und 1 Baby zu Gast in diesem schönen, rustikalen Landhaus. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und idyllisch gelegen. Der Pool ist eine Augenweide! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und die Umgebung sowie Lucca erkundet. Ein eigenes Auto ist jedoch ein absolutes Muss :-)

Schöne Tage im bergigen Hinterland von Lucca

Wir waren im Dezember /Januar hier und haben schöne Tage verbracht. Das Haus liegt etwa 15 Minuten von Lucca entfernt inmitten eines Olivenhains mit schöner Aussicht. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und hell. Es kann auch im Winter empfohlen werden, da es ausreichend Heizkörper hat und einen Kamin, sodass es nie zu kalt wurde.

Enchanting Tuscan Farmhouse Villa

We and two friends spent five wonderful days and nights at this property. Ideally located close to Lucca town, but aways enough for total privacy. Sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside (complete with picture-postcard-perfect vineyards and olive trees) made the stay even more enjoyable. We even cooked two nights we were there and ate outdoors. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Lovely stay!

This home is homey and comfortable and in a beautiful location. Just 9 minutes from Lucca you quickly climb up into the hills into a gorgeous wine and olive region. The house is surrounded by olive trees and we were fortunate enough to be there during harvest. What a treat. Local wine and olive oil is available locally. The verandah/porch on the front of the house has a very serene and beautiful view. We stayed for a week and used this house as a base to explore Lucca, Florence, Pisa and Cinque Terre. You will need a hire car to get to the house and surrounding cities and sights. We had 3 children with us (2teenagers) Wifi was good and with 3 complete bathrooms it made our stay very comfortable. We shopped and cooked many meals and ate al fresco. Beds were comfortable and the house was spotlessly clean and the owner, Barbara was easy to reach and very attentive. I would stay here again in a heart beat. In fact, I hope I do. PS Sit outside at night and listen for the owls

Peaceful and secluded

We had a lovely and relaxing holiday in Agli Orti. The amenities inside and outside were perfect. The house was clean and well prepared for us. It is ideally placed for visiting small villages and Lucca is just a very short drive away. You can actually see Lucca from the house. There are some lovely restaurants in the area. We really enjoyed it and would book again.

Lovely villa and great view.

This villa offers peace and tranquillity in the most beautiful Tuscan country very close to Lucca. Wonderful view and well appointed house. We really enjoyed our holiday and would come back. Thank you Elisabeth for answering all my questions so promply, first time in Tuscany and first time I book here but I felt in good hands. I recommend both the villa and the owners.

Amazing view

Just like the pictures - maybe better. The view is absolutely incredible. We are so happy that we chose Agli Orti for our Lucca holiday. Everything was just as we wanted. On the countryside yet close to Lucca. The house was clean and the beds well prepared. Barbara was there to show us around when we arrived. Thanks for all the advice regarding the area. Elisabeth arranged for a mamma to cook for us one evening - that was great and we loved not having to drive after dinner! The booking through this site was easy and we really appreciated that Elisabeth answered so fast when we had any questions. First time in Lucca but we will be back.

Probably the best view in Tuscany!

We have beeing travelling a lot around Tuscany but we have never stayed a place with such a view. Absolutely amazing. The house was clean and well prepared. Barbara who opened was service minded and gave us advice about the nearby restaurants - we visited Vipore which is close and has a very nice terrace. Lucca is just down hill but you will need a car to stay here. Elisabeth arranged for a cook one evening. That was great. We would stay here again.
