New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. "The stay was fabulous, very close to Keswick town centre with a park opposite for the dog. The staff were lovely and provided a great breakfast and couldn’t do more for you. The room is lovely and warm. Our dog was able to stay and come down for breakfast which made the experience so much better. "

"The hotel is in a lovely place facing the sea with areas to walk. A few minutes walk from the railway museum and train rides to a beautiful area. The hotel is run down really, it looks awful from the outside, the smoking bins were not emptied although the gardens were nice the hotel did not match it. The widows were looking rotten with all the paint coming off. The bed was really uncomfortable, very noisy when lying down. The rooms could to with TLC. "I admittedly arrived at a busy time and The Bear was reportedly chronically short of staff. Whilst the room and its cleanliness was excellent, the human side was somewhat chaotic. I queued twice for approx. 15 mins in total only to be told, in regard to ordering food, that the chef was very busy and not feeling well.
