Unique and cozy

Cute and cozy. Unique layout and conveniently close to the expo center. Unfourtantly our stay was cut short due to power outage. But our host was super great abkut offering a refund so we could find a new place to stay. We would book this place again anytime we are in town.

Eastern Nationals KY Expo Center

Great Location! We were within minutes to the Expo Center. Our stay was great! The host did a great job of communicating about how to lock and unlock the door. There were lovely little extra touches-for instance, bottled water and some sodas and energy drinks in the fridge. Snacks presented in welcome in a large bowl on the kitchen table. Even little things like tin foil, cooking oil, seasoning, dish soap, laundry pods...we greatly appreciated them.The pillows were super comfy-my son has been asking to get a pillow like the ones there since we left. Size wise-The place is a little wonky but doesn't feel too small. My biggest complaints are the floors and stairs to the kitchen. My husband got a splinter in his barefoot from the wood floors at the top of the stairwell, and the stairs were super steep, not very deep and not even in heights. I almost twisted my ankle missing a step while trying to go down to the kitchen to make breakfast. Ceiling height in basement would be rough for tall people but we were ok. Really it was a great stay-a mini-fridge upstairs would be nice for some drinks and to avoid those steep stairs as much as possible.

Catch up weekend with friend

Loved the house. Despite the layout of pass through bedrooms and tilted floor, we loved the decoration, cleanliness and added perks.Check in and communication was great.Neighborhood was industrial and subsequent air traffic noise.

Perfect

This was a comfortable, welcoming, and calming destination. We had a lot of plans during the day and had a wonderful retreat to recuperate. We enjoyed the extra efforts to make us feel welcome and appreciated extras like being able to do our laundry. The manager responded quickly to questions and helped in every way. We all highly reckoned it.

Beautiful house! Perfect for the family. The provisions that were provided were outstanding! We didn't expect that at all. The check in and out process was super easy! The location is very close to lot's to do!!

Absolutely amazing! Such a great place to stay!

We were impressed from the moment we walked in the door. You could see that it was so clean and it smelled so good in there! The listing was just as decribed and shown in the photos. We had everything we needed and more during our visit! Beds were comfortable, water pressure was great, and the washer and dryer made packing easier. The area was easily accessible and it was nice and quiet as we heard no outside noise. The host had great communication and was very polite and friendly. We highly recommend this rental to everyone and would be more than happy to stay here again next time we are in town.

Perfect getaway!

We took a short weekend trip to Louisville to go on some Bourbon tours and this place was perfect. Nearby to many tours and breweries. Quiet neighborhood, very clean with smart TVs, and very responsive! Would definitely stay again!

Amazing!

We came in at about 1am as we had a late flight. The porch light and several lights inside were on, which was thoughtful. House was super cozy and very clean! Dustin was great to work with…he made several accommodations for me about the days (I kept adding days). Location was close to everything! And neighborhood was quiet. They had complementary.beverages in the fridge and snacks. Would highly recommend River City Retreat! Thanks again, Dustin!

Nice home and location

This is a very nice home located a short drive from the airport, University of Louisville, Churchill Downs and the State Fairgrounds. The neighborhood was very quiet while we were there. The home layout is a bit different, as the description stated. However it was very spacious with a nice kitchen and large bedrooms. Dustin was great - it snowed the day before we arrived and he shoveled out the driveway and it was in good shape when we got there. We also appreciated the chance to re-learn how to play PacMan.

Great little 2 bedroom!

This place was perfect for our little family. Me, my husband, and almost 1 year old stayed for a few nights while we were in town to race bikes. Dustin even provided us with a pack and play and high chair so we didn’t need to travel with our own. As others have said, the house lay is a little odd because you have to walk through a bedroom to get to the other bedroom and bathroom and kitchen, but it was fine for us.

Great House with Lots of Charm

Stayed here on a Bourbon Trail trip with my brother. It’s a small house, but has a lot of charm and personality. Dustin was great to work with and the house was clean and tidy. It’s very close to Whiskey Row, about 10 minutes. The neighborhood doesn’t have a lot as far as restaurants, but we were able to find most anything a short distance away. The kitchen being downstairs was awkward at first, but you get used to it. Overall, we had a great stay. I would highly recommend this property.
