My daughter and I planned a girls trip to LA and booked this listing. Before our arrival I messaged the host twice - once several days before our stay to share our excitement, and once on check-in day to update the host that we were held up by our car rental company and we’re going to be late checking in. NO RESPONSE to either message. When we made it to the property, we followed the access instructions precisely to notify of our arrival and have the gate opened for us. No answer by the host, went straight to voicemail 4 times. My daughter and I were stuck outside with no way to access the property. Next, I found the hosts direct line through the VRBO app. NO ANSWER. I FOUND a second number for the host. OUT OF SERVICE. After what felt like forever attempting to access the unit I had already booked and paid for, i had no other choice but to report the incident to VRBO to request a refund, and scrambled to find a hotel nearby to get my daughter out of the cold. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK and if you do, make sure the host is response to your messages and has a working contact number BEFORE you spend your money.
PS. The voicemails I have left and the messages I had sent have yet to be responded to. It’s as if this host doesn’t even exist.
