Cozy and Comfortable
We had a fantastic stay at Casita Gundry! Check in was so easy and we were exhausted after a late flight in from the east coast. Imagine our delight when we woke up the next morning to eggs and incredible pastries waiting for us in the fridge. It was such a blessing to take breakfast off our plate...or put it on rather. LOL Plus the home was just 3 mins from our family we were there to visit - we will absolutely be back!

Cute Casita
This was a very cute small home. Lars was so hospitable leaving us with cookies and some delicious baked goods from a local bakery. Home was stocked with everything needed and would definitely stay again on any future trips.

Lars redefines being a good host!
Lars and his accommodations were amazing! Loved the neighborhood, accessibility, and the charm of Casita Gundry, both inside and outside. His communication beforehand made checking in very smooth, and his preparation with information throughout the home was helpful as well. I absolutely loved the decor and comfort from the bedding to the claw foot tub! Highlight of my stay in Long Beach!

Wonderful stay
My wife, dog, and I enjoyed our stay. Lars was a wonderful host and has carefully and thoughtfully prepared the home to take care of anything we wanted or needed. Provided high quality recommendations of local restaurants and activities. We enjoyed getting some work done in the private backyard and letting our dog run around and nap in the grassy, fully fenced yard. Had a wonderful time and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again the next time we’re in the area. Thanks to Lars for being such a wonderful host and sharing his home with us.

Lovely little casita in Long Beach
We had a lovely stay while on a girls college reunion weekend. Lars is fantastic and includes so many fun extras like freshly baked cookies and Sparkling cider. We absolutely loved the private patio and spent hours out there catching up. Parking is also fantastic. Tons of street parking as well as two dedicated driveway spots. I wish every rental property could be like this!i

Great place to enjoy
Very good host,place was well stocked he went over and beyond to make sure anything you need was there. Nice and cozy with a lot of restaurants close. Dog friendly which is a big plus , since our pets always travel with us. Thanks again

Adorable Southern CA Casita
We had a great experience staying here with our two dogs. The host is fantastic. The private outdoor courtyards are adorable and the host provided coffee for the morning! Would definitely stay here again.

Really cute cottage in walkable neighborhood.
I would recommend this cottage. Definitely need car to get around and to Beach, but that’s pretty much all of California. Host is exceptional!

Wonderful little casita in the Cal Heights neighborhood
The casita was a perfect home base for a short weekend stay in Long Beach visiting family. It's in a wonderful location in the Cal Heights neighborhood, great for walks and minutes away from Steelhead Coffee and the Blackbird cafe. The casita was very clean and had everything we needed. (Favorite part was the tranquil, private back patio) Lars was an amazing host, super easy to communicate with, immediately responding to any questions and offering tips and suggestions on the neighborhood. Highly recommended! Also don't miss the fresh baked cookies he leaves in the casita—delicious.

Quick getaway!
My besties and I needed a quick girls weekend to Southern California. We live in Vegas, so the drive is nothing. Lars is just the best host! He had everything so clean and ready for our arrival. It was the perfect fit for 4. He also had fresh basked cookies waiting for us. We will most definitely be back!

Perfectly cozy home with well-thought-through details!
Loved my stay at Casita Gundry! Every detail has been considered, and while the Casita is small, it has everything you could want. A/c worked perfectly. House was immaculately clean. Loved the contactless entry. Coffee pods were provided, and there were plenty of clean, nice dishes. Private back patio was shaded & quiet with citronella candles provided. Bathroom had all the amenities. It reminded me of boutique hotels in Tokyo, where they've mastered the art of offering superb hospitality when space is at a premium- you never feel lacking or like the space is 'tight.' And best of all, Lars left some yummy treats that I munched my way through. Can't recommend enough. Thank you so much for a great stay!

Great little gem in an awesome neighborhood!
Lars was a fantastic host, and we appreciated the privacy he gave us, while still being available to answer any questions we had and give excellent recommendations. The casita was so cute and the extra touch of having basics in the fridge ready for us ( like eggs and water) alongside homemade cookies was much appreciated. The property also had a great park within walking distance which was important to us as a family. We will definitely book here again during our next trip!

Rivals a boutique hotel!
What can we say? From the artfully designed birthday message on the fridge & the amazing fresh pastries, cookies & fruit bowl to the helpful yet unobtrusive host, this was our best VRBO stay yet (and we are world travelers). Beautiful interior decoration & design & well appointed with high end toiletries, this was a 5 star experience in every way. So happy to have found a place to stay when visiting friends & family. We’ll be back!
Lars was a great host! The space is perfect for a family who needs a basecamp to sleep and out to enjoy Long Beach. He thought of every little touch including the jar of homemade cookies and fresh pastries, a great touch and talked about daily by my 9 & 12 year olds. It is pet friendly with a great yard to roam & patio for the family to enjoy. We’ll definitely be back our next visit to SoCal!

So perfect!
Loved everything about staying here! Not only is it just footsteps away from my family while we are in town, Lars as a host, was so amazing! From the super sweet location, accommodations, super cute cottage and yard, we were so welcomed and felt so cared for- from fresh pastries, fruit, coffee, eggs, .... everything was just perfect! Everything we expected and more...
We had a very pleasant stay. The rental was comfy, clean, adorable and easy to find. Centrally located, so we didn't have to travel far when traveling around Long Beach. Lars provides everything you need: soft towels, wonderful bedding, cookies, coffee, and all other accoutrements needed to make your stay cushy and complete. A definite recommended! Thank you, Lars. :-)

Home Away from Home
This the cutest little home! I stayed with my daughter & her husband. There is a full-sized bed in front bedroom & bunkbeds in the 2nd room. The bottom bunk is full-sized, sleeps 2 and, if needed, also converts into a sofa. The Casita is tastefully decorated. As long as you are not the type to "spread out", it's perfect for a cozy stay. There is a small kitchen: refrigerator, 2-burner stove, microwave, toaster - all you need for a light breakfast or reheat leftovers. With nice weather, enjoy your coffee on the patio. The beds are comfortable and the linens are to die for! You can just sink into the softness & relax. It is an extremely quiet neighborhood. (Be sure to set the alarm if you have an appointment in the morning!) The Casita is located close to the LB airport & within minutes to 405 or 710 freeways. It's in a lovely neighborhood. Grocery store is nearby, as is a CVS & Walgreen's. I have family in the area and this was a perfect home to be nearby but not underfoot. It's not a cookie-cutter hotel room: no elevator noise, no upstairs neighbor stomping on floor. Peaceful. That's a quality that cannot be said about many venues. The owner lives in the home in front & you'd never know he was home. (He's a stealth ninja!) Lars provided coffee, tea, creamer. He even bakes cookies! With all the craziness of family Thanksgiving, Casita Gundry was the best choice I could have made for a 3-day stay. I will definitely book another stay!

I found Casita Gundry to be a comfortable, cozy, and quiet retreat. Located in a safe picaresque neighborhood of bungalows and cottages just west of the Long Beach airport, it is perfect for a couple or small family looking for a Southern California adventure. Centrally located, access to all the attractions the region has to offer is simple and easy. Lars is attentive and available for all your questions and needs. Quiet, comfortable, and private are the watchwords for this property.

Quaint and Cozy with Charm
Our family loved staying here. Lars was such a wonderful host. We were greeted with a personalized welcome sign on the fridge. It was so thoughtful. Lars also left snacks and bottled water for us. The claw foot bathtub was really special. We would definitely stay here again.

Familia Gjonola were great guests! Clean, friendly, respectful, and considerate. I’m glad they enjoyed the tub and caddy as much as we do. It makes the rehab/restoration process of the 1925 cast-iron piece all the more worth it! I’m also glad the girls loved the homemade cookies and Porto’s Cuban guava cheese strudels! John, Yvonne and the twins are definitely recommended to all hosts! Thanks for choosing Casita Gundry in Long Beach and enjoy your cruise!

Absolutely perfect!
Our stay in the casita was fantastic! Located in a historical home district of Long Beach, the owners Lars has created a beautiful little getaway casita. Small but very well equipped with everything we needed. We took our twins to their 1st trip to Disneyland for their 5th birthday, then ended our trip with 3 days in the casita for some beach time and relaxation. Lars was extremely helpful in every way, kept in contact with me about everything! I am a big cook and was able to cook a great family meal while our children played and watched movies. All the great beaches and shopping were within about 15 minutes of drive time, making it easy for a day at the beach the ability to come back and cook a meal. The upgrades and details Lars made for the casita were fantastic. When you travel and stay in someone else’s home you wonder if you will have what you need and if you will be comfortable, no worries here, you feel right at home. Thank you Lars for creating such a place to call home for a vacation , we will be back for sure!

Slice of paradise
Beautiful accommodations. The hosts are extremely kind and thoughtful. The guest house is very comfortable and beautiful. This was exactly what my family needed after a long drive and an all day stay at an amusement park. Very cute and quite neighborhood. Very good experience. I will be back!

Casita Stay
Our stay at the Casita was amazing. This little cozy house makes you feel right at home. Lars made sure that we were able to get into the home safe and checked to make sure we needed anything. He made a great breakfast recommendation. The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood and is within walking distance to great food. The homemade cookies that were left was a great treat. Make sure to walk around the area and view all the historical homes and beautiful yards. We will definitely stay at the Casita again!

It was a pleasure meeting and hosting both Mandee and Chad. They are clean, friendly, respectful. Definitely recommended. I wish they could’ve stayed longer to enjoy Casita Gundry and the historic district. Come back to visit again soon!
