We booked The Poconest for our son’s 16th birthday snow-tubing trip and truly loved the property — we absolutely plan to come back. The home is beautiful, even bigger than the photos, with a great layout for large groups, comfy beds, a well-stocked kitchen, and fantastic spaces for teens like the theater and game room. Communication was always kind and responsive.That said, the house was not fully winter-ready. The stairs were not salted on arrival and were extremely slippery, and there was no salt scooper available (salt was delivered later). With the hot tub far from the house, more door mats and a proper shoe area are essential — one mat wasn’t enough for a home that sleeps 22. A mop had to be delivered mid-stay for snow cleanup.The biggest disappointment was the golf simulator — our main reason for booking. It was overly complicated to set up, required hours on the phone updating the modem, and the garage heat didn’t work, making the space freezing and unusable for golf or karaoke.We also received multiple Amazon deliveries for the owner during our stay, which felt unusual. The management team was kind, but a luxury home like this needs stronger arrival prep so guests aren’t troubleshooting amenities or coordinating directly with the owner. Gorgeous home — just needs better winter readiness.
