"Clean and comfortable. Glad we were no more than 4 adults as there is only one bathroom. We booked through vrbo but then ended up dealing with an outfit called Sykes Cottages who ended up charging us more (not a lot more but more than the ad quoted) and they were a nightmare to deal with. Their intervention felt like a scam. Luckily our stay was enjoyable but Sykes should be avoided. "

"This is our second stay at Oakwood Lodges. Smooth transaction from booking to check in and check out. All information provided prior to check in including a telephone call which I found helpful. Lodges are all unique in their own styles. Lodge was clean and everything provided from away from home. Very comfortable. We took the children this time and they loved the hot tub, game of pool and darts, we were all kept entertained."

"Comfortable cosy stay in lovely, clean cottage which is dog friendly. Situated minutes from shops meaning you can easily get your essentials or grab a drink in a lovely pub. Nice location and suitable base to drive to other parts of the region. The cottage was clean and presented as described. WiFi was excellent throughout ( I know that’s required for some, but not us) Has a small back garden, which is gated and perfect for dogs to stretch their legs."

"The apartment was comfortable, clean, tidy and convenient for access to the racecourse or for access to York by car. It’s about a half hour walk to the city centre. There's a local bakery and convenience store nearby and we found on street parking for one car. In the first floor apartment, There’s a small kitchen with a full cooker, microwave, kettle, fridge and washer dryer. The dining table only seats four so you may need to also sit on a bed.
