Calder Beach Retreat

Great beach house in the perfect location. Its right in town, but the 1/4 mile private road and no visable neighbors makes it very private and quiet. The views are spectacular and so is the home. No corners cut on the luxury you will find here.

Helpful tips

When we arrived at the address, the GPS stopped well short of the location. It would’ve been helpful for the instructions to say drive to the end of the private road. In addition, the verbiage keyless entry had us believe that we would be punching in the security code, however, it was a lock box.

Amazing beach house

We enjoyed the views and walks to the beach. So peaceful. Kitchen was very well stocked. House had anything and everything you could think of. Would love to stay here again. Management was very easy to work with too!!!

relaxing beach trip

Wonderful location...view of the ocean amazing! We all thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful home. Lots of natural light due to the many windows. The private path to the beach was shorter than it looks..probably about 5 minutes. The open kitchen with anything you might need was all there. I would definitely stay at this property again!!

PERFECT!

The house is situated on a private road with a path to the beach...PERFECT! It is also just a short drive into the town of Long Beach...PERFECT! You can see the ocean from the house...PERFECT!

Lovely home in private location with sweeping ocean views

Lovely, well maintained and well supplied house in spectacular beach location with sweeping ocean views. This house is comfortable and very private. The path through the dunes is quite well kept and wide enough that two people can walk side by side. As beach paths go, this one is a super highway.

Rain or Shine!

This property was amazing. So beautiful and relaxing. It didn't matter if it was raining, sunny or even snowing. Yes, it snowed and was very cold. Inside the house it was cozy and warm with plenty to do. When it's too wet and cold we read, played games and in the garage there were more games! Great space for all to spread out or be together. Everything you would want & more. Will definitely come back.

Perfect in every way I could see

We spent a week in this home in early November. Location is amazing with only a couple of neighbors in sight if you look hard. Beach goes a total of 28 miles! Interior was everything we could possibly want. Play room for little kids and teen/adult foosball, pingpong, basketball etc. in the finished garage area. Kites waiting to be flown and clam guns ready to hit the beach. We have rented a lot of homes and this is our favorite ever! Simply perfect. Huge kitchen and huge TV and great bedrooms and bathrooms. Change nothing and add nothing. This home was perfect!

Great with few adjustment needed

There were 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 teens. New, clean house with nature all around. Deer practically parked in the backyard, coyote traveled same path to ocean (4 minutes walk), bold eagles and plenty of seagulls. House was stocked extremely well! A few suggestions to mitigate and/or may be a better description needed: 1. It is indeed a beach view property but it is not house on the beach, if one is downstairs, you can't see ocean, and even from upstairs its not that close, as I mentioned at least 4 min brisk walk, or more. 2. Two beds downstairs are wobbly and unusable for adults (I am 125 lb woman and every time I turned bed would shake), we ended up using day bed instead. However, to be fair, those beds might be OK for little kids. I think it is crucial to note in a description. 3. Yard Crue came during our stay, opened garage and had full access to house via door to garage (we are unaware that we need to lock it). No warnings were given. Our teens were alone in the house at a time and left house promptly to go to town (a good 20 min walk) as they felt uncomfortable. 4. Path to the beach is shared with 6 family apartments/condo up the way. Location is fairly remote and the path goes right through yard, it was a bit unsettling to see other people walking around.

Great time at the ocean!

Some friends had recommended a family vacation at Long Beach, and specifically this home. It met all our expectations. Can't think of anything that was less than 5 stars! Except maybe the temp being a little cooler than preferred for August on the beach, but that is what it is :)

Beautiful, well kept property.

Beautiful views. Big windows everywhere. Spacious bedrooms. Well stocked with extra linens & kitchen appliances. Huge kitchen. Toy closet was a highlight for our 2 & 4 yr old. Great place to relax.
