Just beautiful. So peaceful and relaxing. We didn’t see another person although we were in a gated community. Only heard the birds. The cabin warms up easily with propane fireplace. Stayed with my sister and was comfortable and could see a small family being so as well. Recommend: take the drive to Yosemite. We also enjoyed a paddle boat trip around Lake Pinecrest. Stop at Walmart in Sonora before driving out to cabin. Get gas anywhere but the Chevron before you turn into housing addition. Be prepared to use blender to grind coffee (no big deal) and there are no extras in kitchen - so pick up anything you might need if you’re cook or baking or storing food (again, typical practice). Any other needs, feel free to reach out to owner- he is very responsive.

I lected this cabin because we specifically wanted to be near Pinecrest Lake and based on wonderful reviews, some which were winter stays. It was rented for one night concluding a road trip through the Gold Country and we wanted to swim in a lake and enjoy our last day of our trip. We are not familiar with this area, but had been in Sonora 20 plus years ago. The cabin photos include one of “the lake” and it looked like a partial photo. We thought we would be staying within walking distance to a lake. Once I arrived I texted the owner to ask how we would get to the lake because I could not see it. We did pass by a pond on the way in to the cabin. It was very green with algae (which can be a problem). It tuned out this was what was being called the “lake”. According to some people we met, Pinecrest Lake is around 10 miles away with a crowded day use area. This was our main concern about this property. There were numerous instructions provided since it is through a main gate. However the owner neglected to send the needed codes the day before, once texted he sent the information. This was a bit stressful. Other issues were that the property was not in the best condition and had a badly peeling deck, linens did not seem fresh, the bathroom had some issues near baseboard and what looked like dry rot, the sofa bed was broken and would never accommodate two people, there were torn areas in the sliding glass door screens. Other properties on VRBO in the same area are well maintained.

Cozy cabin!

My husband and I planned a short trip to take our kids skiing/snowboarding for the first time. We wanted a place close enough to the resort that was clean, cozy and priced reasonably. We found all of this with our stay at Lodge at the Lake! It was incredibly cozy, with a warm, inviting atmosphere the moment I walked in. The interior was nicely designed, blending rustic charm with modern comforts. The fireplace added a perfect touch, making the space feel even more like a home away from home. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed from a well-stocked kitchen to cozy beds. If you like washcloths for the bathroom, just be sure to bring your own as they don’t have any. I like my washcloths :) The two beds in the loft, a queen and twin were very comfortable. The only downside was the couch bed downstairs (sleeps 2) as it was not quite as comfortable, with a thin, squeaky mattress. The owners were accommodating, and buzzed us into the gate immediately, even though we had to check in pretty late in the evening. It was the perfect retreat for some much-needed downtime. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in a peaceful and cozy setting!

Snowboard trip

Myself and 5 friends had a snowboarding trip to dodge ridge and needed a place to stay . This was the perfect stay. Communication with host was easy and responses were quick place was comfortable for all 6 of us and we were able to bbq the host provided a FULL propane tank.fire place heated the entire house during our stay. Will be booking again whenever I have another trip .12/10 very happy with my experience.

Nice cabin, beautiful setting.

Key box was not very workable. Once inside, the cabin was clean and comfortable. No washcloths. We had to replace the thermostat batteries to get heater to work. Otherwise we loved it.

PERFECT ALONE TIME

Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised how clean and updated the cabin was inside. I was outside the majority of my time reading - the deck was perfect for that! The neighbors were extremely quite and even had turkeys visit at prior to dusk. Will definitely book again.

This is a great spot for a small family or group to stay if you're heading to Dodge Ridge. Cozy and cute and very homey, plus the beds were quite comfortable. Not a lot of frills, but everything you need, just a cute little cabin in a beautiful place that you can make your own for a few days.

Amazing Retreat in the Mountains

This cabin was perfect for a getaway for me. Quiet, clean and so cozy. It had everything I needed and a short drive from the mountain for skiing. The hosts were very attentive and got right back to me with any questions. I will definitely book this cabin again. If you want a quiet place to retreat from life’s craziness, this is the place.
