The Rubens is top notch. Friendly and helpful staff. Afternoon tea was a great experience. I was a little disappointed by the size of the room. Victoria station is a 4 min walk. Buckingham Palace is right across the street.

Olivia the manager and the bell hops were nice. The others at the desk were useless. Our keycode didnt work 2 days in a row. We had to get new keys to get back in our room. the bathroom door hinge was loose and wouldnt close. I told them about it but they never came to fix it. Our phone charger cord went missing from the nightstand after a cleaning. Rooms were tiny. Outlets were positioned poorly so water kettle for instant coffee had to go on floor next to bathroom where you needed curling iron plugged in at same time when getting ready. Btw, it was broken and wouldnt turn on. Also stubbed toe on door stopper located in center of floor isle when accessing bed. Bed was a double when we ordered a queen. No mini fridge available. No room to keep suitcase open so had to remove suitcase from Closet every time i needed something. No drawers to put clothes away. Bathroom door just clears toilet so no more than 1 person in bathroom at a time. Bathroom door should open out of bathroom rather than in but the engineers who designed this place were not too smart. Wouldnt serve me takeout coffee from bar at arrival. Complimentary coffee in lobby only available starting at 7am so leaving earlier for day tours, you need to go to a cafe 1st. It should start at 6am.

Amazing service from all of the staff at the hotel. Truly exceptional!!! Also a fantastic location right in the heart of London and easy to get around town otherwise. Rooms are definitely smaller when compared to American rooms, but have a lot of ambiance and personality nonetheless. Would definitely recommend for your London stay!

The hotel is in a great location, across the street from Buckingham Palace and near Hyde Park and other attractions. However, the hotel is outdated and the rooms are very small and lack basic amenities such as refrigerators and ironing boards and irons. Also, the rooms follow are very classic theme which many people love but I prefer a more modern style.

Great hotel at excellent location with authentic atmosphere and kind staff. Check-in explanations not detailed, no suggestions of expedia benefits for members or room upgrades. The rooms are clean and smallish and room service could be improved providing with water, changing towels, bathrobes etc..on a daily basis not requiring asking for it, taking into account the price ! . Doormen all very helpfull assisting with the destinations of guests and cab/uber arrangements. Excellent location within multiple public transport options.

Dejligt hotel med god beliggenhed. Men det blev mit sidste ophold der. Morgenmad til 50 £ er helt umuligt. De prøver også med eksta servicecharge Det er frastødende og alt for dyrt. Der må være en ny direktion der forsøger at tjene på service og ydelser når man først er på hotellet Jeg må desværre fraråde hotellet af den grund.

The room smelt dusty, but everything was upholstered in there including the walls. The drain in the bathtub Ihad to manually pluck up to shower. Overall I enjoyed the location and staff.

There's no doubt the Rubens to trying to hit a certain mark but I feel it falls short. The room was nice but dated, possibly tatty, with old plug sockets, corroded bathroom fittings and not cleaned to a high standard. Overall I'd say it was not ageing well. The staff were pleasant enough but not overly welcoming and took an age to upgrade us, eventually placing us in a room that was prepared for someone's birthday. The upgrade was not worth the price either. Overall I great area for the palace with an excellent bar. I wouldn't recommend it though, not in London where's there's far better hotels for this price.

The location was great, the staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was lovely, clean and tidy. The only thing that was a disappointing was the king bed was two singles put together and you could feel the delve in the middle which was a little uncomfortable. Other than that, a great stay.

We loved our stay at The Rubens at The Palace! It was a short walk from Victoria Station and we were greeted with friendly, professional staff for a quick check in process. Our room was beautiful and clean. We highly recommend the view of the mews. We were lucky enough to see the Royal horses leave the gate for their exercise. The afternoon tea was relaxing and delicious. Overall we found the location to be perfect for our first trip to London.
