Yes the host was inattentive and some amenities were poorly maintained. My bed reeked of urine. I asked for new sheets and they sent me a message to go get them myself. They were in a locked room though, with no key to be found. There were zero extra blankets in the dead of winter. So we tried turning on the fireplace. It wasn’t working. We were again instructed to fix it ourselves. I tried and could not. We looked forward to using the gaming room. It was locked and we were told that a previous guest broke the machine. The place itself was nice enough, but I was disappointed with the hospitality provided.

Called the office the day prior to check-in due to forecast of 8-12inches of snow starting Sunday midday. Asked about option to reschedule, nope. Asked if checkout could be extended/if level 3 would we be charged to stay until Monday - they were unwilling to provide direct answers or provide reassurance “we don’t typically do xyz.” Ended up leaving after the first night to avoid the snow which did end up as forecast. Cleanliness - upstairs carpet stiff and dirty, pots/pans dirty/caked. Grill was dirty/caked, dust and cobwebsAmenities - hot tub jets barely work, host-provided instructions to operate electric fireplace did not work. Overall our experience with 1st Choice Lodging was very poor. The cabin complaints are easily fixed, but the customer service appears to be “We got paid, we don’t care”

Great experience overall easy checking in and check out. The views were amazing, the cabin overall was amazing. Sent a lot of time in the hot tub. A fun stay, great place to spend a honeymoon, very secluded and intimate. The ride up was a bit Rocky but we were informed ahead of time. Will definitely visit again and recommend to our friends and family.

My boyfriend & I came for his birthday on 12/11 and to relax. It was our first time going away together. The positives, We loved the privacy of the area and the cabin was really nice and clean. The fireplace was nice & super warm & cozy, didn’t really need furnace on. Now the negatives, the shower head was not the greatest and neither was the tub. The ceiling fan in the bedroom upstairs was so loose/loud & wobbled so bad we turned it off, we thought it would fall. The hot tub jet two didn’t work & the water fall feature was loud & sprayed water everywhere there was a rag laying on top of it. Read in past entry’s in the book that hot tub was an issue. I messaged them that night so we wouldn’t be charged for it but no one got back to me. We chose the bedroom upstairs, the bed was so uncomfortably bad we tried the rooms downstairs and they were about the same. We ended up in the open loft bed, it was the least uncomfortable one. Game room was ok, only had pool table and foosball, pics showed more. Basement was FREEZING and the tiny heater hardly worked. Wasn’t a fan of putting full trash bag on the hood of my car & driving it to the dumpster way down the hill when we left. My boyfriend left with sore back pain and still sore and both of us more frustrated than relaxed. We won’t book there again.

Clean and cozy. Very enjoyable, as advertised. Initially confusing finding the cabin itself, but that was more on the GPS telling us we arrived, but actually still needed to drive a little further up the hill (past the first 2 cabins you actually see)

We really liked many aspects of this property. We were disappointed the WiFi didn’t work through our stay and we had minimal phone reception. Played phone tag with the company when we drove to town bc it was too hard to get reception to make a call to solve the issue. Wish the 4th bedroom had actual walls for privacy. You could hear everything through all the walls and floors— bring earplugs. Hot tub was nice, and porch was lovely. Kitchen was well equipped although not a ton of counter space. Would prefer to not have to drive trash down to dumpster. We had a vehicle large enough to make that work but it’s awkward and not logistically convenient. Fire pit was also very cute.

The cabin was OK. The upstairs layout was strange. The upstairs beds were hard. The porch was beautiful overlooking the tree tops. We enjoyed all the birds singing. I felt the main bathroom needed a very good cleaning. The kitchen sink had a clog. A four-wheel-drive vehicle would be the best for the drive-in.

Very nice

Very nice cabin in a secluded, wooded area, but still very close to town. Check-in was flawless. Beds were great. Hot tub was clean. Only problem over a 4 day 3 night stay was that the gas fireplace did not work. Reported this to management the firstbhour after Check-in, but was never addressed by property manager.
