At the heart of the retreat is Belle Retreat, our beautifully styled 65m² communal lounge and dining tent. The retreat has mains power and heating, providing a warm and comfortable space to relax, dine and spend time together throughout your stay.



Surrounding the retreat are four separate luxury sleeping tents, creating the perfect balance of shared spaces and private sleeping areas.

Sleeping Tents



We have four separate luxury sleeping tents, with the number opened for your stay depending on the size of your group.



Each sleeping tent can accommodate up to three guests and can be configured with:



• 1 king bed or 2 split single beds

• 1 additional day bed



Our sleeping tents are off-grid, with no mains power or heating. They are thoughtfully set up to provide a cosy and comfortable night’s sleep, with woollen underlays, quality bedding, extra blankets and hot water bottles provided.



And remember — this is Southland! Even after a beautiful warm day, our nights can be chilly. We recommend bringing warm pyjamas and cosy layers to make sure you’re comfortable and ready for a great night’s sleep.



Depending on your group size, your booking will include one, two, three or all four sleeping tents.



Bathroom Facilities



The retreat has two private toilets and one shower, all exclusively for your group. Guests can also enjoy our two outdoor clawfoot baths for a relaxing soak during their stay.



With accommodation for up to 12 guests, Forest Hillside is fully self-contained and designed for those wanting to slow down, reconnect and enjoy their own private glamping retreat in the Southland countryside.
