Beautifully located modern barn

We had a great stay at the property, under floor heating kept the property comfortably warm, the bungalow aspect made it very family friendly and the views from the doorstep were absolutely beautiful. Jon was a great host always very responsive and we had a great stay thank you.

Peaceful respite

Owl barn is everything the listing suggests. So beautiful, peaceful, comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. The kitchen is ideal for cooking. We shopped at the coop in llandovery and hunkered down for a couple days of relaxation. Lovely walks, visiting sheep, coffee on the patio. Truly wonderful. Highly recommend

Rural Idyll

What a quiet and beautiful spot to escape to! We had a lovely time at Owl Barn. The barn is modern, comfortable and clean, set upon a hill accessed only via narrow, windy country lanes. We often found ourselves sharing the lane with 'escapees', some of the sheep must have preferred the anticipated taste of the neighbouring fields and managed somehow to wangle their way through the barbed wire fences to then only find themselves unable to 'break in' to the lush field opposite..we enjoyed this entertainment which only added to the experience, but drivers be aware of narrow roads with occasional woolly obstacles. A truly beautiful, remote spot, set amongst endless rolling hills with far reaching views of the Welsh countryside. Jon was the perfect discrete host, providing lots of information on the area, available when needed but otherwise leaving us alone to enjoy the seclusion.

This was the most stunning property of our trip -- of any of our trips, really. It truly IS as gorgeous as it appears in the photos. Made me more than half-tempted to cancel our touring plans and stay in to enjoy it. Jon was easy to work with, all directions arriving clear and on time, and the area has plenty to see and do -- if you can drag yourself away. The only negative was that there was a clothes washer (which we so appreciated, traveling with hand baggage only for a 2 week trip!) but no dryer. And the weather kept threatening to rain, which meant letting everything drip-dry inside. Many places we stay are like this, seems common in Britain, although since everything else about this place felt so luxurious, that was a slight disappointment. But I would return in a heartbeat.

Beautiful place with a lovely kitchen. Location was amazing and the early morning and evening views were magical. Went in February and would like to come back in the summer for a different experience.

Haven in the hills

We had a wonderful stay at the Owl Barn. It was exactly as described. Outstanding views across the valley looking out onto Brecon Beacon landscape. The bedrooms were very comfortable King size beds. Modern bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen with ‘leftover cooking staples’ from previous guests( a bonus!). Peaceful surroundings even when the neighbouring cottage was also occupied. One small negative was that some of the cutlery had not been cleaned well from previous users, easily fixed by washing up ourselves. Also the dishwasher malfunctioned so I recommend that you hand wash. The suggestions of where to eat were great. I would definitely come here again. Highly recommended!

Owl Barn October 2021

Excellent property, stunning location and far reaching vista. More could be made of local walks from the front door as I don’t feel we made the most of the location but on the whole a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Beautiful

Stayed here for 10 nights early September and it’s a beautiful place and very comfortable and quiet. The barn is lovely and exactly as the photographs showed. Jon was very quick to answer any questions or queries and was very helpful. We would love to visit again in the future.

Womderful stay

We have recently spent a few days in this lovely barn conversion just outside Llandovery. It was modern, very clean and well equipped with wonderful views from the lounge and kitchen. We would remmend the walk up to Llyn Y Fan and a walk around Llandeilo with a stop at the Ginhaus. Jon was quick to reply to messages and supplied us with plenty of information about the cottage and local area before we arrived and while we were there. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great place for a break

Owl's Barn is a great place to stay and get away from it all. As sport enthusiasts, we enjoyed the walk / cycle / run back up the road from Llandovery. Property was well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Would recommend as a place to stay.

A great place to stay to get away from it all

A nice barn conversion tucked away on a hill, great view, a nice area to take walks, local co-op is well stocked and has much of not all of what you need with regards to groceries. Jon the owner was very helpful and attentive, recommended to stay 👍

Amazing cottage in the hills outside the Brecon beacons

If you want to escape the madness of modern life, and be surrounded by breathtaking views, fields of sheep and the stunning views over The Beacons, STAY HERE! It won't be for all as about 10 minutes down a single track road to the nearest town of Llandovery but it's only about 80 mins from the costs of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire! Those coast lines are heavenly. The cottage is stunning with its modern family kitchen, large living room and dining rooms, 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It's everything you need to escape (Tesco and Asda deliver here). Loved our 5 days and would happily go back - Jon the owner, is a too bloke and very helpful.

Mooie styling, maar niet praktisch

Ruime schone en vooral mooi gestijlde schuur. Fijne zitkamer en grote keuken. Uitzicht voorkant prachtig, uitzicht achterkant vanaf terras op hele rommelige schuur. Wij misten wat praktische dingen zoals haken voor jassen en handdoeken en een droge plek om vieze wandelschoenen neer te zetten. De eigenaar is vriendelijk, goed bereikbaar en zeer behulpzaam. Het huisje is geschakeld wat wij vooraf niet wisten. Overigens weinig tot geen last van buren gehad. Auto is absoluut noodzakelijk!

Wir haben die Woche im Owl-Barn sehr genossen.Die Kommunikation mit Jon war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert.Das Haus war wie beschrieben und fotografiert!Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt und können es als Ausgangspunkt zur Erkundung der Brecon Beacons uneingeschränkt empfehlen!

Absolutely Magical!

Difficult to know where to begin - what a magical experience it was staying here. Almost reluctant to tell people, we want to keep it to ourselves! The barn is exquisite, beautifully converted and everything to a very high standard. Well appointed throughout, very comfortable and warm. The location is amazing, the perfect place to escape from the daily grind. No traffic, no noise, its so peaceful you could hear a pin drop at night. well placed for trips to the west and south coast beaches. Friendly and helpful hosts. All is all a magical experience , the most relaxing holiday we have had for many years. We will return!! G & R

Stunning barn in a peaceful location

Had a wonderful 4 days at Owl Barn. I agree with all the previous reviews. Beautifully designed and appointed. Wonderfully fresh, clean and with everything you could need. Genuinely 5 out of 5. The only thing we could improve would be teaspoons - there were only 4 in the house. That’s how good the place is, as that’s the only thing we had to moan about!! If it’s available - then do book a stay at Owl Barn!
