Es war ein sehr gelungener Aufenthalt im Royal Oak. Es ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen(Bad), liegt aber dafür in einem wunderschönen Fleckchen Erde gehört wohl zu den Hotel-/Gaststätten mit dem freundlichsten Angestellten. Wir wurden unglaublich nett aufgenommen, Adene und alle anderen waren äußerst zuvorkommend und nett! Betten waren hervorragend! Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis wohl unschlagbar! Würde ich jederzeit weiterempfehlen….😊 und suchbwoeder kommen ! Danke ans Royal oak Team *****

Value for money, friendly staff. Clean and basic. Short drive into liverpool so convenient. Would recommend for a cheaper option than city centre. little tired

The Bat area had been updated and very nice the Bedroom i had Number 16 was not up to the standard you would expect to pay £60 a night for !!!

The property is very tired with outdated fixtures and fittings Couldn’t run a bath or shower without assistance from my husband as the tap was so stiff I couldn’t move it Couldn’t get the tv to work Positives Room size was large as got upgraded to a family room Receptionist on duty was very lovely Room was quiet and a good temperature

Very poor condition and not good value for money
This was honestly the worst hotel I've stayed in for many years. It looks great from the outside and website photos but it is in a very shabby condition inside...felt like going back to the 90's. There were damp stains on the ceiling of the bedroom, a very dirty looking trapdoor above the bed leading to the loft space, black mould from a water leak by the beam above the window, ripped net curtain, loose toilet handle, loose electrical box around lampshades either side of bed, very dirty seat base on the chair and very worn dirty looking emulsion on the walls and paint on the skirting and architraves. There are also no electrical sockets anywhere near the bed and the room only has 2 spare sockets to use in the whole room. No chance of charging up your phone on the bedside cabinet and no USB sockets anywhere. It was certainly not worth the £63 we paid and in my experience it was well below the quality of a Travelodge which was pretty much same price at the time in that area. The reception staff when we checked in were very polite and friendly but as soon as we walked into the hallway to head to our room, it became apparent how neglected and rundown all the decor was....massive chipped paintwork on doors and all woodwork...the corridors smelled to me like the inside of a nursing home and not a good one.

Was given one room that wasnt cleaned, so was given another room, receptionist and another staff were very accommodating and sorted the other room and moved a single bed in for us out of the first room.

For the price we paid felt disapointed in the state of the room with black mould in ceiling corners and bed lamps not attached properly.

Schysst med en bra restaurang i samma kåk
Det bästa var nog att hungry horse restaurangen låg i samma hus, annars bra service av ett trevligt gäng och sängen var skön. Det negativa är att lamporna levde på sitt sista strå, möggel på listerna i badrummet och fanns inga vattenflaskor att köpa i vendingmaskinen. Om möjligheten kommer igen så besöker jag nog detta hotell igen. (Men som nämnt, mest på grund av restaurangen)

Comfortable 2 night stay
Staff helpful. Comfortable night's sleep, excellent breakfast. Had dinner there one night too which was cheap and cheerful, although there are other places nearby. Good road links and close to the station for the Wirral line into Chester/Liverpool, so super convenient.

There is two car parking which made us confusion. Outdoor lighting is required to the entry of the reception from the car park. No full English breakfast which made us disappointed, but it is understandable for H&S. The facilities need refurbishment due to a bit of tired.

Fantastic value for family accommodation with very friendly and helpful staff in all areas. Brilliantly situated on 1x bus route into Liverpool day ticket jump on off £5 /24 hours. Very comfortable clean rooms

Room smelled badly of damp and the accommodation was kind of grim. My room probably didn't get used much and was just benefitting from the Open Golf happening nearby.

Condition of hotel
Been to the hotel previously. Whilst the room was clean it could well do with a lot of modernisation. Tiles in bathroom cracked and grouting dirty. Signs of leaking in a lot of places throughout the hotel. Really dirty light fittings in restaurant above tables. Staff friendly and food was lovely

Great stay , over 2 nights .. food was outstanding on all levels , breakfast and evening meal , the overall place needs a bit of TLC maintenance wise however this did not affect the stays- will book again if in the area
