My wife and I spent five nights here in September. More bedrooms than we need but we enjoyed the extra space. Roomy and bright with a good sized balcony providing nearly 180 degree views of the lake. Set back slightly from the waterfront but elevated nicely so it is easy to see over the rooftops for an otherwise unobstructed view. Since the location is below the main road, the noise level is minimal. Traffic at this time of year is less too, and in the evening it drops off to almost nothing. We were impressed by the cleanliness. No wonder as this family care lovingly for the entire property. Bellagio is a 10 minute drive away where we found two supermarkets (only about 100m or so from each other) that, between the two of them, provided all that we needed. There is a small market about 10 minutes walk away, but it is tiny and with limited selection. Great to get started with though. We ate dinner at home two of the nights, enjoying quiet candlelight and wine at the balcony dining table. There are several restaurants within a short walk but check to see if reservations are required first to avoid disappointment. Restaurant da Abate serves up a wonderful selection of local fish, but be sure to reserve ahead as it is popular. Just down the hill a short walk is Croto do Pescatori. It’s a decent place for fish, beef and an amazing array of pizza offerings plus they can seat you right on the water. The boat rental shop is right next door to the Pescatori restaurant. We rented from super friendly Barbara and in a half day were able to see most of the sights to nearly Como and back. Lastly, a brief note about the father of this family. A wonderful, energetic man (who speaks no appreciable English but streams ahead in Italian anyway) who maintains the grounds and keeps a close eye on everything. We were caught in heavy, cold rain at the Lezzeno ferry terminal with no way home but walking the 1.2 km. I called Eros (who was at work) and he said he would send his father. A few minutes later he arrived, umbrellas in hand, and led us to his car for a safe, dry drive home. Exceptional! We would love to return!
