This old hotel has been nicely updated and was clean. However, the key card maker wasn’t working and we had to have someone walk us to our room to open the door, then there was no hot water… so no shower… and we were going to a wedding. Also a lack of lighting and plugs. The hot water was the final straw… tried to give this hotel a good rating, but just can’t.

We apologize for the inconvenience during your stay now that we have been made aware we have gotten a new hairdryer from storage and replaced the other and we have gotten a plumber out to check the issue with the water. We will be going through a full renovation by the end of this year. After our renovations are done we hope you will visit us again!

The room smells, there was pizza on the remote, holes in the curtain, dresser drawers are crooked and refrigerator is tilted. Door key would not open the outside entrance.

The room toilet seat was very loose Facet was very loose Could not get hot water for shower. Water ran15 mins no luck. Bfast 6am-9am. Should at least be til 10am The staff was compassionate but they are not maintenance people. I feel sorry for them having to listen to complaints everyday Outside there was a mattress tossed and left. There were wooden palates as well This could be a great property if owners really cared. The back door near our room keypad did not work Ugh so disappointed

Excuse me for i was a bit confused. Nothing was brought up to the front desk for this pressing issue and we have pest control come out every month to do preventative maintenance on each unoccupied room. If there was an issue with your stay please let me know at 703-349-4068, as it should have been brought up to the front desk so we could have it taken care of right then and there. Once I read your review me and a housekeeper inspected the room to find nothing however i had pest control come out again and spray down the rooms including room 110. Luckily no one else had been in the room so it had been shut down until pest control let us know if that room had anything or not. After talking with pest control they let me know that the room had no insects of any kind in there however i still had them respray all rooms in the surrounding area including that one. Nonetheless, i thank you for your review and hope you have a great day.

The service at check in was very professional and friendly. However, upon entering our room it had a musty smell. We attempted to open the window and noticed it would not lock (we were on the first floor with the parking area close by). As we tried to lock the window, the entire side of the window pulled away from the building frame. We notified the front desk and they noted some rooms were being renovated. The gave us a second room which was also musty smelling and very loud. The hall traffic did not quiet down until well after midnight. We anticipated staying two nights but checked out after the first night. We definitely will not be returning.

I do apologize for the inconvenience. Our windows have a middle contraption the can be hooked and unhooked but it can be tricky since there a older model. I do apologize as well for the issues with the rooms we are most definitely going to go through a renovation towards the end of the year and hope you will give us another chance to serve you in the future.

Front desk was rude and unhelpful. Horrible customer service for my 80 year old in-laws I booked a room for the weekend. Will NEVER use this hotel again. Took their items out of their room.

As the person who check them in.I completely understand your decision none of their items were taken out of the room. You booked them another reservation for another day that they never came to check in for unlike every other guest who stayed over that day. We hope you and your family have a wonderful day.

No reason to stay.
Check-in was slow. Clerk appeared to be under the influence of something. The access door "B" was broken thereby allowing anyone to enter the building. The room #130 was in poor condition, flooring was loose and falling apart, furnishings tattered with poor lighting. Access to hotel was directly off of a 4 lane high speed highway. We found Andrew the bartender/waiter to be friendly , helpful and professional. The breakfast hostess was friendly and professional.

I have talked to the agent who spoke to you. she had taken cold medication for the cold she has caught but was not under the influence of anything other than.I due apologize for the inconvenience. Our hotel will be going through a full renovation later this year. After renovations are done i hope you will be open to giving our hotel another chance.

The property is off of Rt. 7 and there is no easy way to turn left out of the parking lot, Rt. 7 is a very busy road, you have to get off the next exit and turn around. The door to my room was broken, I had to walk back to the front desk 3 times in order to get in. The desk attendant on duty tried her best to get the door open, as I was locked out of my room. She got on the phone with the manager and the manager had her kick the door in order to open it - which didn't make me feel too safe...I was a bit taken back I wasn't offered any sort of partial refund or credit, as I was locked out of my room with soaking wet hair. The woman who was on duty was super friendly and I enjoyed how pleasant she was to talk to, which is why I let the situation go without a fuss. The hotel is attached to an old historic house, which is fascinating as it was used as part of the underground railroad, so I appreciate the history. There is no room service and the restaurant attached to the property is typically closed and has a limited menu. There is no store or toiletries offered like razors, hair combs, etc., which was inconvenient.

I apologize for the inconvenience, i never received a call until after the front desk person who assisted you was off duty and on the road and wanted to let me know how her shift went since she's new to working by herself. She did let me know that there was someone who had trouble getting into the room but said they didn't want to switch rooms and said it was fine. I will bring this to her attention since you should have been moved from the start so we can get Maintenace in to fix the door asap, as we want our guests to feel safe at all times. We have toiletries behind the front desk If at any time anyone is in need of extra razors, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, cups, utensils, bowls and extra towels. I also want to apologize for not having room service, since we are in our slow season and get very few guests but have to have the restaurant open. due to this we have one person working until busy season starts again, due to this we ask that the guests come down so that the bar/ restaurant is not left unintended. I will talk again to the front desk and let them know the proper procedure moving forward as we want our guests to have a pleasant stay. I also want to apologize for the road when you have to make the right turn, since this place is historic all that is around us was added on later in the years making this place more of a congested area for a lot of businesses. Moving forward i will talk to my staff to make sure things like this do not happen moving forward. My deepest apologies.

Key cards did not work that well to get into the hotel and also our room. Had to try them multiple times before they unlocked. Other than that, everything else was fine.

There was a distinct smell of mold in the hallway. The toilet in the room kept flushing by itself throughout the stay. I would definitely try to avoid it in the future, but it is conveniently located and affordable so i wouldn't be say I am never going back, but there are other choices first.
