"We had the best time at Marisa's place. It was a charming and comfortable home, and, for our purposes, was an excellent location as we were on a bit of a tour to visit a few different towns where famous American authors lived. Near the house, we found good food -- Prairie Whale and Xicohtencatl Restaurant were our faves -- and my favorite dirty Chai ever at Cafe Holli. We also enjoyed Get Lit Bookstore and Wine Bar. "We had coordinated an early check-in, but when we arrived, the house hadn’t been cleaned yet which was a miscommunication. I reached out to Catherine and she promptly responded and got the cleaners RIGHT over. "Emily’s place was great. Very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Lots of towels and supplies in the kitchen .It was the perfect location as you could walk to town and the lake. We never had to use our car all weekend. Emily was also incredibly responsive. We had a question at check in and she immediately answered our call.
