This is a tough one to rate.
Good news first, all of the staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. I would mention the hotel barkeep in particular made an effort to make visitors welcome.
The mixed news, the hotel lobby is (mostly?) done with a remodel. Its quite nice, though the classic 1920 furniture doesn't quite mix with the 2020 decor. Placing the large TV on the floor, we presume, is a temporary choice.
The hotel lobby and restaurant are attractive, and have good menus/ selections. Trouble is, they are not open very late, and not open Monday at all. Monday is when they would be welcome as several other meal and watering hole options in town are closed.
The less perfect. No elevator, but we knew that when selecting the hotel. We did not factor in the 10,000 ft altitude.
The room, when we got to it, was mostly good, some furniture (nice antiques) could use a bit of TLC. The main room drawback was the thermostat did not seem to do much. We only got the heat below what seemed to be 80 degrees by turning past 50 degrees all the way to OFF and opening the windows.
Yes, the shower is small. But the water pressure is great, and hot (if you wish). The linoleum floor is a bit slippery, even when dry.
If we stay there again, We'll ask to avoid the third floor, plan the day around avoiding trips to the room and leaving what we don't need in the car.
Its a great location, staff, but located in a period hotel that only partly uses its amenities.
