Great cabin for family getaway
Cabin worked perfect for our family of 6 and the in-laws. Loft was great to give the kids some space after a long day of skiing. My only complaint is the master bed. It was really uncomfortable, on night 2 I ended up sleeping on the futon mattress in the livingroom which wasnt much better. My husband felt the same but no one else had issues with thier bed. We had a great time otherwise and the cabin was wonderful to use. Communication with owner was quick. Thanks for letting us use your vacay home!

Beautiful property
The property was beautiful. The cabin was nice and the ping pong table was extra fun. The only complaint I would have is the beds and pillows were uncomfortable. One of us ended up sleeping on the couch to get some sleep. I think some new pillows and some mattress toppers would make a world of difference. Also you definitely need an all wheel drive vehicle.

Family Vacation

Great cabin nestled away
Great property in twin lakes. Cabin was quiet and met our needs. Only thing that would have been better is there was only one key to the house a second key would have been useful since we had two couples and separate cars but wasn’t that big of a deal.

Fun layout, lots of flexible space, a few things could have improved our experience
Pros: location, space, comfortable sleeps lots of people. Pingpong table is a fun touch. Cons: unable to use grill as both provided tanks were very low to empty. Some minor maintenance issues such as inoperable windows. Wasnt the cleanest, esp considering a several hundred dollar cleaning fee (for example, found a prior guest's leftover pizza in the fridge). Other notes: pack it in, pack it out policy on trash. Not a huge deal for a night or two, but something to consider especially for a longer stay.

Nice getaway
Nothing fancy, but just perfect for our needs. Takes some time to cool down using the a/c but the mountain air did the trick even in June when opening the windows. Kept clean. Kitchen had the basics we needed to cook with. Host was friendly. Grateful for the opportunity to stay here!

Nice cabin with a great view but needs some TLC.
The cabin is nice and peaceful. However, the basic amenities are worn out and badly need of replacement. The dishes and cookware are in bad shape. Some unusable. Lights were out in one bedroom and on the deck. Shower curtain barely hanging on in one shower. Towels were threadbare. No wash cloths. Pet hair all over the couches and got on our clothing. Sheets were not guest clean. Had to change bed before use. Hair and stains. Broken blinds, broken windows. Access to get into the cabin was difficult. Had to go all the way to the back door with no pathway to get keys. On the plus…great fireplace and enough room for 7. Nice neighbors. FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS A MUST!

Charming Cabin Escape
The cabin is nestled in the trees but was close enough to walk to the frozen lake to watch ice fishing. Cool experience. Spacious rooms, large deck. Very peaceful. It was a short drive to Leadville Colorado to watch Ski Joring. Me and my friends loved this place!

Beautiful cabin
Beautiful cabin, great location! We enjoyed the loft, and the ping pong table in the basement. Some of the pots and pans were very much past their prime, and we couldn’t get the tv to work, but we were only there a few hours each evening. Would stay again.

Sweet spot
Lovely location for a couple of people or small family. Everything was easily accessible. Couple of items to be addressed. You could smell propane when standing next to gas fireplace. I did not turn it on while I stayed there and checked to see if the gas was off, and it seemed to be. Also, a couple of the pans to cook with had a lot of left over grease in them. Other than that we had a great time and visit.

Long Weekend in Twin Lakes
Enjoyed our stay at Twin Lakes. House easily accommodated our small group…plenty of room for more. Beautiful views just a short walk from the house..enjoyed the early morning clouds lifting over the mountains.

High altitude cabin. No internet, limited cell service and amazing views! This is rustic, don’t expect perfection. Enjoy the perfect outside.

Hiking vacation
This was a great location to access the many hiking trails in the area. The house was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed nightly ping pong. Would have given an overall excellent rating but there were some things that need to be fixed such as window cranks, ceiling light bulb changes and towel racks.

Weekend at Gartenhaus
Had a great time there. Place was clean and as described. A few minor things were broken. Broken towel rack in bathroom, Quite a few broken cranks on windows making it difficult to open. Other than that place was great. Would stay there again.

Wish we had more time
Wonderful Place - need a 4x4 to get to property!! Maybe could have same games - cards - or board games!! Kitchen and fireplace were awesome!! Kids said maybe Wi-Fi. Overall we would definitely stay again!!!

It was ok
The place was clean and tidy. But the walk up to the house was deep snow and ice. The lock box was very difficult to find in the dark too. Parking was OK for one car, but if more cars were there it would be tough. The inside was nice but had some problems. A towel bar fell apart in the bathroom, the ping-pong table net was broken and most of the paddles were also. The pans for the kitchen were in tough shape. Some dishes weren't clean either. Salt and pepper were both empty, and after we loaded the dishwasher we found there wasn't any dishwasher detergent and it was too late to wash by hand because were all ready to leave. The beds were comfortable, the cabin was mostly clean. There isn't any wifi and cell service is spotty. Definitely something to keep in mind. As a vrbo user we are guests in the home. As guests, you expect to be treated as guests in a home. I didn't get this feeling at this place. The deep snow and ice to the door was an indication of how welcome they wanted us to feel. Overall, I'd give the place 3 out of 5 stars.

Thanks Brian for your feedback. We have had maintenance man go over an address these issues. House is not advertise to have Wi-Fi however you will get Wi-Fi on your phone and there is good cell service they are depending on your provider. Verizon and AT&T work very well there.

Filthy
The property could be nice but needs a very thorough cleaning and a lot of TLC. We spent the first afternoon and evening of our 2 nights stay cleaning. (We took pictures). It was an accumulation of years of dust and filth. Sheets were not changed, one was even soiled. Showers were dirty. There were crumbs on the coffee table and carpet. Stove and countertop had grease, kitchen table and floor weren't cleaned. Top of fridge was disgusting. Cobwebs on the lamps, and in the bedrooms. Windows are filthy.... Outside is not kept at all. We could go on and on... Very disappointed, never had such a bad experience with vrbo before. We didn't feel comfortable at all during the whole stay. Manager refunded our cleaning fee (website stated that their cleaning fee was higher due to extra cleaning because of Covid! What a joke!). The only positive is that the beds were comfortable.

Beautiful well planned home. Sitting on the deck and seeing the stars which appear so close was a stunning experience. We caught 4 large trout at Twin Lakes and cooked them for dinner.

Really Great Place
This is an awesome cabin and we (mostly) loved it. The little things kept it from 4-5 stars- like no salt shaker or asking us to run the dishwasher on our way out and not having any detergent. Overall I'd definitely rent again. Beds were comfortable. To me, 3 stars is really good. 5 is almost impossible to get without wifi/garbage service. So it was great, just a few small details from prevented it from 4, 4+.

A 5 Star location that needs lots of TLC but we enjoyed!
Incredible beauty and seclusion! Pet friendly! – Anyone gracious enough to allow pets deserves a bit of leeway in the cleanliness department. It’s unfortunate that many renters do not respect the property which understandably leads to a bit of apathy and neglect. With that in mind, this is my honest review and includes the kind of info I appreciate knowing. We were there in the summer and the deck is so peaceful. The patio “furniture” is hilarious – the antique folding chairs are deteriorated and there is nothing left of the seating. Fortunately we had our own chairs. Would have been nice to have a small table though. The grill is great. The very dead, ugly tree leaning on the corner of the deck is not. It ruins an awe inspiring view of the heavens. The tile floor is really pretty and clean. There are plenty of coffee filters but little else in the way of spices. The pots and pans are the same age as the patio chairs and we probably got some Teflon in our diet. There were cheap paper towels, dish cloths, and liquid soap but no dishwasher detergent. We brought games and movies but we never ended up turning the TV on. There is little in the way of entertainment so bring your own. The ping pong table and laundry are downstairs. stairs are steep and difficult, one of our elder dogs took a tumble. We left the door closed and stayed out. It was a great space though. Lots of room with a back door to outside where additional outdoor furniture would be nice. The small couch in the living room is very comfortable, the beds are ok, but everything else is pretty uncomfortable. The small couch upstairs is really disgusting and needs to go. Its filthy. Most of the windows are missing cranks or broken and won’t open or close all the way. The showers were hot and there was body wash but the hand soap container has been refilled with water so many times there are no suds to speak of. Not sure why they have been refilled with water instead of soap, but as noted by others, neglect seems to be a theme here. This property could easily be one of the very best on VRBO if they just gave it some TLC. I do understand not wanting to put a lot of money into a rental that has obviously been disrespected by renters, but a few small touches would make a big difference here. There are handwritten rules that need to be included in the description online. You are also instructed to take your trash but no clue to where. Guest book is totally full. Place lacks love.

A Challenge
It would have helped if we were told that 4- wheel drive is a must, luckily we had 4 wheel drive. It was a challenge to get into the house because none of the snow or ice was shoveled away and we had to trek through ice and snow to get the key. Once inside I hade to fix the garbage disposal because water was backing up in the sink. I found a open pack of cigarettes in one of the bedrooms so it makes me wonder just how clean the house was. The pots and pans are heavily warn but there are plenty of dishes to go around. We wanted to write in their log for guests but the log was full and it filled up in 2018... If this were my place and I were renting it out I would have a talk with the management company and also the cleaning crew. Its a shame because this property has so much to offer.

Nice Cabin
Cabin was nice, plenty of beds and space for large group. Getting to it a little confusing. Beautiful areas around it. Over charge for cleaning...our cabin was not clean when we arrived. We have pictures/ Fish in freezer/ no trash-bags-you have to pack out your own trash/ showers didn't drain/ dust everywhere, sticky rails/dirty towels in closets along with crumpled up blankets on floor in closets. After cleaning it ourselves, we enjoyed our 4 days there. We should have received our cleaning fee back.

Beautiful location, unfortunately snowed entire stay. Roads well maintained. Stained linen in master bedroom was not so inviting, as well as shower didn’t drain, standing in inches of water at end of shower. Food from previous tenant left in fridge, as well as other people’s items not cleaned up.

Twin Lakes Mountain Cabin
Beautiful area and neighborhood. The house is lovely and very well suited for vacationers. Property Management communication is short and terse, slow to respond and didn't respond when I asked about a replacement propane tank. While the cabin is nice, it wasn't as clean as expected for the cleaning charge incurred - kitchen counter top dirty, filthy oven, dirty dishes. The towels and sheets are very old and used. The grill needs replacing- underside is completely rotted. I even sent a note asking if there is a grill - I didn't think I would have to ask if the grill was in acceptable working order. Overall a nice cabin that can be made great or excellent with some TLC.
