Snow Boarding with the boys
Had a great time. Cabin is secluded and quaint. Too much snow to really enjoy the outside amenities but we did not have much time for that.

Great location for climbing Mount Elbert!
This was the perfect location for climbing Mount Elbert, and very close to Leadville and Twin Lakes - but still had a remote feel. It was very clean, cozy and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again.

Weekend stay for the Leadville Trail 100
Excellent location, comfortable place, with a well-stocked full kitchen and nice communal living room space. Our group used this cabin as a home base for crewing, pacing, or running the Leadville Trail 100. Driveway could fit 4 cars no problem, decent cell service, and location was close to the race start/finish, aid stations, and shuttle locations. Only downside of this place might be that the hardwood in the upstairs bedroom makes it more challenging to be quiet while other people are sleeping downstairs. But overall convenient and comfortable!

Great Cabin
This property was very nice. We have three boys who loved playing on the tennis court and exploring the woods in the backyard. Nice secluded location so no one around to bother you. Leadville was close by but it’s kind of a different town. Overall it was a place I’d go back to.

Perfect location for Leadville activities
My family (Wife, 20 ,17 year old "kids" ) loved this place. Awesome property to hike around and explore up the hill to a little stream and more. So close to all of the Leadville activities but still out in the woods. We did ATV'ing, Paddleboards at Twin Lakes, Hiked up above Turquise Lake (Haggerman Trail), golfed at Mt. Massive course and hiked the little nature trail at the nearby (2 mintues away) fish hatchery. Inside of property is very cool. Fit our family perfect but was "cozy", which was good! Very well stocked kitchen as we cooked there 3 nights and spent one in town. We ate at the Tennessee Pass Cafe in town. I would recommend it! Large menu with tons of options in a cool old building, or you could sit outside. The deck overlooks the other house that is getting worked on by the road but didn't ruin the view and ambience of the mountains. I could sit there all day. Overall a great place to stay near Leadville. We usually move around different towns and places in Colorado but would stay there again for sure if near Leadville. Highly recommend!

Quiet cozy escape
Great place to stay just outside Leadville. We loved that this place was a bit removed from town. It was so quiet and relaxing, but still close enough to everything we wanted to do. 30-45 minute drive to Copper mountain with zero traffic. Plenty to check out close by. The property had everything we needed. They even had snow shoes and cross country skis to try out. I tried the snow shoes, but my heavy frame and 2-3 feet of snow was just too much to overcome. But I still had fun. We're already talking about coming back in the summer to check out all the hiking trails and lakes.

Mountain getaway
We are lowlanders from the east coast who needed a quiet secluded location close to hiking and a reasonable drive from the tourist part of Colorado. This location fit the bill 100%. We were 2 hours from Denver, Colorado Springs, and Glenwood springs. There was also plenty to keep us busy right near Leadville. The property owner was spot on with his description of the property and he had plenty of suggestions for local activities to keep us occupied. The beds were super comfortable, we did not take advantage of the sauna due to my wife expecting but it was a great added touch.

Awesome Vacation
Loved our visit! The cabin has great amenities and is in a cozy, quiet and secluded area. After full days of hiking the kitchen was clean and easy to navigate, amenities of shower and bathroom were excellent and the beds were like a five star hotel. The Leadville area is full of life with plenty to do. Thank you!

Location!
We were only a short distance from Twin Lakes, Independence Pass, and Turquoise Lake! We really enjoyed the location! The property around the house was great for hiking! One thing I didn't like was the fact that your view of the front yard was the neighbor's roof. I feel like a "secluded" cabin shouldn't overlook another house. But other than that, we really enjoyed our stay!

Great location!
We were super comfy at the cabin and couldn't have asked for a better location for all the activities we were interested in. The cabin has fabulous hiking trails right out the door! We explored Mt. Huron, Hope Pass, Timberline Lake, Turquoise Lake, and the town of Leadville. The beds and linens were divinely comfortable. Super quiet location with beautiful star gazing opportunities galore.

Darling, cozy chalet
Our family of five enjoyed a recent weekend at the chalet. Perfect for our needs. Beds were comfy (a must-have after days of skiing). Sauna a total bonus that all of us enjoyed. We didn’t use everything that was available to us (tennis court, snowshoes, XC skis, sleds) but a nice touch. Great communication throughout. Thanks, again!

Great Cabin For Anything Leadville
The Chalet was great. My group of 6 and an infant traveled from Florida to Leadville for a ski vacation. We like to visit nearby Ski Cooper. AWD vehicle for safety and peace of mind if traveling to the chalet/Leadville in the winter. By no means is it treacherous or tricky to get to. Roads are regulary plowed with minimal grades but you never know what conditions you'll encounter so get an AWD or 4WD. The cabins' offerings fulfilled all of our needs. The lower level entrance/mud room/ full bath/ full laundry and sauna made entering the property easy and stress free with all the gear and mess that comes along with the winter conditions. Up the spiral staircase (which can be cumbersome with luggage, non issue for able bodied) to the the second level, another full bath, king bed in bedroom, kitchen, dining and couch/ottoman/mattress pad as described. My 6 and 7 year slept soundly with this set up, grandparents on the king. We grocery shop and cook most our meals. The kitchen was very well stocked and an easy place to work and keep clean. Continue up the spiral staircase to the third level/bedroom. Plenty of room for wife, myself and 1 year old. The third level bedroom has a queen and single bed in it. The Chalet has a limit of six. The owner was gracious enough to allow our 1 year old as a seventh. It was certainly cozy. A seventh adult or child would make it tight, as for the limit. All and all a great experience and look forward to visiting the chalet in the summer to take advantage of the 30 acres and accompanying wilderness area. Thank you Mr. Dunn!

Breathtaking Adventure
My husband and I stayed in the Chalet for our honeymoon. This is a perfectly secluded property in the woods with tons of wildlife around. The Chalet is super cozy and feels like home we didn't want to leave!! Highly recommend staying if you are looking to get away.

Wonderful cabin in the woods
This cabin was perfect for us, 2 grandparents, 2 teenage grandchildren. So cozy, comfortable and in a beautiful location. We loved the sauna after hiking, even attempted a little pickleball, and enjoyed the fully equiped kitchen. Was not noted in the description that the 2nd bath is on the lower level with the sauna, while 2nd bedroom is on the top floor. No problem for our teens who enjoyed the tiny winding stairs up and down, but older or larger adults might need to consider that. But for us it was an absolutely perfect getaway...we wish we could have stayed longer!

Serenity
We had an amazing time with absolutely gorgeous views of the mountains. We enjoyed the hiking on the property of the cabin, the Colorado trail, the Mt. Massive wilderness trail, hiking around Turquoise Lake, and driving through the mountains to several nearby cities. The Treeline Kitchen was our favorite eatery in Leadville. Amazing food and service. The cabin in the forest was very clean, well stalked and everything we could have hoped for. There was a minor issue when we arrived at the cabin. However, it was completely out of the owner, David's control. David, was quick to respond to our questions and kept us abreast of the situation. Thank you David for allowing us to stay in your cabin. I have no doubt, we will be back. Amber & Rich

Our trip revolved around fishing so the location of the property was perfect. The place was so clean which is a must for me. The bed was very comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed . Wish we could have stayed longer.

Could not have asked for a better stay. The owner is pleasant and communicative, the chalet itself is fantastic and well stocked, and the property is expansive and fun to explore. My father, brother and myself go hiking in Colorado every year, and this has been our favorite stay so far.

Peaceful and good location for Mt. Elbert hikes
This was a peaceful and relaxing location near the Leadville fish hatchery and also convenient to hikes at both North and South Mt. Elbert trailheads. The home was immaculate and the owners had been quite creative about designing the interior. For us older travelers, we were mostly limited to the main living area due to the very narrow circular stairs and low ceiling on the top floor. Also it would be helpful to receive access information well in advance of 3:00pm on the day of arrival (when we were In Leadville buying groceries). Our cell phone reception is sometimes spotty and we were worrying about getting in. Neither our google or ATT apps could locate the address, but the directions are easy if you know to follow directions to the Fish Hatchery and from there continue on. When we advised the owner that the shower rod (which was broken) fell on my wife as she was getting in the shower, we received no response, however we managed to use a downstairs shower, navigating the narrow stairs. We were upset that the shower rod had fallen and really wanted to communicate with the owner about it.

We very much appreciated the silence. We had some great hikes. Everything was wonderful. We are going back. Some people might mind the very tight circular stairs but they weren’t a problem for us.

Respite in the mountains
Initially, it was very easy to book this cabin and I liked the cancelation policy. The cabin was perfect for 3 people and could definitely accommodate a few more. The cabin was clean, quiet, comfortable, and in a great location. We enjoyed the proximity to Turquoise Lake, Windsor Lake, downtown Leadville, Mt. Sherman, Halfmoon campground, Hayden Meadow, and a variety of fishing spots on the Arkansas River. We especially enjoyed being within a mile of the National Fish Hatchery and its various hiking trails. The property itself had a wonderful deck to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book, or listen to the nearby stream and various birds. The property has its own trail leading into the Mt. Massive Wilderness area. The cabin was also nicely stocked with necessary kitchen, laundry, and bathroom essentials. The beds were super comfy and the cool evening air allowed for restful sleep. The owner, David, was very responsive to any questions we had. I highly recommend staying at this mountainside chalet!!! It also looks like a great place to stay in the winter..

Fantastic getaway
We loved this house. It was close quarters for 4 adults and 2 kids but it was wonderful. The sauna was spectacular as was the waterfall in the “backyard”! Secluded location but still only 5 minutes away from a convenience store and 15 minutes from downtown Leadville. We had an issue with the fridge when we were there and David was quick to respond and offer solutions! I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Great base camp to set out from for daily adventures!
Then only issue we had was not getting the key code to enter the property. Once we made contact with the owner he was very responsive and even gave a a small partial refund for the inconvenience. Other than that, this is a great property that I would stay at again and recommend to others.

Excellent Family Getaway
The chalet was very cute and updated. En route, the owner contacted us to find out what time we would arrive because they had a transformer blown and was having the electric company working on it. He kept us informed and it was quickly resolved within minutes of our arrival. He also let us know that the previous renters told him the dishwasher was not working properly, so he gave us a heads up. He asked permission if we would allow workers to come in and fix it during our stay. That was thoughtful. When we agreed, he compensated us for our time. The owner was extremely friendly and easy to communicate with. The chalet itself was well stocked with linens, toiletries, kitchen utensils/pans/plates/etc as well as spices and more. It was a home away from home. There was plenty of space for my family of 5 to sleep. We did not use all of the amenities (tennis/sauna). The downstairs mudroom/laundry area was a perfect way to come in and out of the snow and hang up wet snowsuits and boots. We only stayed for three days as a post for us to be near ski cooper and snowmobiling and it was much better than staying in the town of Leadville which mostly had motels that looked run-down. Everything we needed was within a hop, skip, and jump away. The wifi worked great which was a must for us trying to vacation while still having "work" to manage. I also loved the pet-free aspect since my kids have many allergies. They did not have any issues here. We would definitely stay again.
