We had the best time at this property! Everything was smooth and easy from start to finish—seamless check-in, prompt communication, and a spotless home. The views were absolutely amazing and the place had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay (well-equipped kitchen, cozy bedding, and thoughtful touches).The only small downside: the listing says five bedrooms, but one of those sleeping areas is actually an open loft (not a fully private bedroom). It worked fine for us, just good to know when planning sleeping arrangements.Overall, a fantastic stay—we’d happily come back and highly recommend it!

Our family had a beautiful stay. Plenty of bedrooms so everyone had a little privacy, but tons of spaces to come together and play. The location was surprisingly close, withing 10mins, to Lead/Deadwood, and a great spot to start from when exploring Spearfish Canyon. Everything went well and as expected. We certainly plan to stay here again.

Family Vacation in South Dakota

House was great and accomodated 4 families well. We had 8 adults, 2 children and a dog.Plenty of parking since everyone drove from a different state.Well equpped kitchen, plenty of paper products.Game room and hot tub wonderful.Fourth of July fireworks over the outer cut in Lead visible from deck.

This property is one of the better ones we've stayed at over the years. The cabin was very clean and most everything worked as expected; the only exception was one of the pinball machines would not play. That said, I did get the new high score for the other!The beds were comfortable, having the better quality foam style mattresses. The kitchen was well-stocked with supplies and basic items. The shower handles did afford slight difficulty, as you had to move it to H/C a couple times to get good pressure on the hot side, but a minor inconvenience. The property was isolated and quiet, rarely hearing anything from neighbors or passing traffic. There was some nice wildlife sightings, including a family of deer and a family of wild turkeys. There was also a squirrel that was curious near the hot tub for a while one morning. Overall, we do recommend this property for a family gathering!

Beautiful location

Great views, large spacious home. All the beds were comfortable, we all slept great. Peacefully quiet in the evenings on the deck and with the mornings sunrise. We had 9 additional family members out for dinner one evening and plenty of space for everyone. The 3 very large bathrooms and closet space were great surprise. Games in the basement kept the kids entertained and the young adults enjoyed the hot tub. We would rent here again!! Thanks Kelly

Husbands birthday bash!

This property was truly amazing! The location away from the crowds of kool deadwood nights and the view of the the woods was so relaxing and only minutes away from deadwood. The property was very clean and had all the amenaties one can ask for. Our only negative we had was the shower head in the loft shower needed cleaned or changed, as it didn't have any pressure. We didnt use the hot tub as it had hair floating in it. But this place was really truly beautiful. When we come back to deadwwod we will stay again! Thank You to the property manager for making this stay easy.

Great spot close to deadwood.

We comfortably fit 11 guys with plenty of room to spare, amazing view from the porch that is very private from other cabins. The owner was very friendly and easy to work with. Great spot for a bachelor or bachelorette party. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at Morning star. The most gorgeous views, peace and quiet, with only a 5 minute drive into deadwood. Very clean property. Hot tub was an added bonus. We will definitely stay here again.

Incredible view, amazing house, very clean, property managers are very kind, helpful, and professional. Easy instructions to stay and leave the property. The absolute BEST vacation our family has had ever!! We love South Dakota and these digs are the way to stay. We hope to be back very soon. Fun summer vacation

So much room, it was too big for my family. But if you have more than 7 it would be great. The pool table and bar area in the basement is wonderful end to busy days where you can just relax at the cabin. There are neighbors close but you don't even know or notice any other houses. You feel like you are the only cabin in the forest. Beautiful views and the hot tub is fun at night. Beds were comfy and everything was clean. Only complaint would be that the property did not have the address at the end of the driveway so we were not sure we were at the right place until we unlocked the door. And the Upper level bathroom and the main bathroom showers were hard to turn on and the water would fluctuate from very hot to ice cold for no reason. So we all showered in the basement bathroom. The ice maker also was not working.
