Amazing!!

We were in spearfish for the BHSU basketball camp for our boys and we stayed here and it is its own little piece of heaven in the mountains. Dewayne was great with communication and the cabin was everything we expected. When we come back this is where we will stay.

Gorgeous!

Excellent and clean hide-away cabin with a stream literally right out front! Very quiet and cozy for anyone looking for solitude in nature. Cabin was perfect inside and out. Dwayne was very informative and friendly for helping me figure out the area. Recommend for everyone!

Mini getaway

My husband had training in the area ans we turned it into a mini vacation. It was a wonderful couple of days without kids. Home waa beautiful and just what we needed. We even took notes for our own future cabin. Thanks Dwayne. This place was amazing and just what we needed.

Had a great experience staying here! Good communication with property owner. Cabin literally had everything only needed to bring meals and clothing. Only complaint would be a nicer mattress for the bed, but overall we would def stay again!😁

Anniversary Getaway

Property was as advertised and very clean. Great secluded location between Spearfish and Deadwood. Our host Dwayne was simply awesome from check in thru our stay. Would definitely rent this property again in the future.

Black Hills

Very comfortable & a great location! Dwayne was a very concerned about having everything we needed. A beautiful stream & plenty of deer & turkey. Close to Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon Scenic Drive & Spearfish. We also had a great day fly fishing Spearfish Creek. Thanks Dwayne for your hospitality.

The little stream

It was so cozy and We loved that the frig had condiments. It was very clean and the stream was unbelievable! The bed was a little hard, but the cabin was so cozy and the internet was great! The owners were totally acceptable and there to answer any questions! Wonderful stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maitland Legacy. The wilderness setting was extremely scenic and served our purpose to have a relaxing vacation doing almost nothing but chilling out.. Peace and quiet

We looked forward to coming home after all of our days of adventure. We grilled each night, and sat in the spacious deck, cooked breakfast every morning. Everything you need. Plenty of space for our family of 4. Everyone got their own bed! The loft is more spacious than the picture. We will be back!

Vacation

We loved staying at Maitland Legacy. It was the perfect center point for our adventures in the black hills. The kids loved the little stream. We'd find them playing in it frequently. And it was so easy to fall asleep listening to the babbling brook. Definitely being kept on our "favorite" list

Too much communication/uncomfortable bed

First of all, Dwayne is good people and the property is absolutely beautiful. This rental just wasn't the right fit for me and my friend (two women in their early 40s who like their creature comforts). Dwayne called me before my trip, and while it was an extremely long chat, I chalked it up to midwestern kindness (as I'm often stuck in my hurried East Coast frame of mind). But he called again (on the house phone) when we got there. Then one minute later it rang again and I stopped answering. I ultimately unplugged the phone because of constant robo calls. When we arrived, I had to kill two hornets in the living room window. Then, the first evening, as we pulled in from dinner, his partner, Char, pulled in directly behind us and wanted to chat. I had a headache, was exhausted from travel, and it felt like a major overstep. My friend slept in the loft bed the first night--the mattress had no support and tweaked her shoulder. We spent our first morning in the Deadwood ER getting her muscle relaxers. I tried sleeping there the second night and the dust had my allergies going crazy. We ended up sharing the queen bed. Again, the property is beautiful, the owners are well-meaning, but it was not the right fit for me at all.

Riding trip

The hosts were very nice to deal with and the place was wonderful. Peaceful location and spent the early mornings and late evenings sitting on the deck have beverages listening to the peaceful running sounds of the brook. Wonderful location and highly recommend it.
