Fantastic Getaway

We loved this property. It was well maintained and just like photos. The location is private but easy to get to Spearfish and Deadwood. We didn’t have snow on our stay but it would make the location hard to get to. Overall, we would definitely stay again!

Most disappointing thing is that in the listing it does not say that you are 3 miles straight up a Gravel Road on A mountain and need a four-wheel-drive car. The directions we were given for ladies from the city do not know what anThe directions we were given for ladies from the city do not know what a switchback is and they did not name the main street that you turn off of Understandably from dust from the road, the house would get dusty, but this house has not been properly dusted in weeks . Still had remnants food and things people had eaten in the past. This is a place that should be clean. Definitely the day before people arrive. Simply the outside needed sweeping off and cleaned. It was a simple thing while it was not listed in what they sent to me after I rented, no inexpensive bar of soap that you might take a Shower the first night there before going to the grocery store the next day since you’re not allowed to check in until after 4 o’clock. Could have been better.

The place needed some cleaning. Dust everywhere and webs. The lock on the sliding door is broke. They said the hot tub was cleaned but it was dirty. The propane fire pit didn’t work. The upstairs bedroom didn’t have a window covering and was woke up at sun up.

The property was terrific. Downfall was it was not to our standard of being clean so we cleaned the entire inside and grill. There is no steps to get into the hot tub so we had to use a patio chair.

Uphill

We live in NW Ohio - it's flat here. While the listing shared the need for a 4X4 vehicle....you NEED a 4X4 vehicle to make this journey. As you drive to the VRBO you will likely feel the need to stop driving uphill to be sure you're in the right neighborhood. GPS doesn't work well and addresses are challenging to find. Keep going - the VRBO is probably just another 100 yards up! Once there, after decompressing from the drive on the dirt roads, the place is great. It's clean and comfortable. The view is tremendous, and the wildlife will drop by or near the venue. Suggestion for the VRBO ownership: hang signage near the front of the driveway explaining the address and name of the venue.

Our stay was amazing. The views sitting outside were stunning. The location made it even better as we did not have a neighbor right on top of us. If you are looking for a place to stay near Lead, I highly recommend this place!

Sturgis - Deadwood bike week

We loved the idea of staying just outside of town and the cabin fit our needs perfectly. Two major issues needed - better directions (goggle pin drop does not work if you have no cell signal in the mountains) - address needs to be properly marked with sign at road. Better information about how steep the grade is going into the location for pulling trailers and riding motorcycles. Hot tub very foamy - too many chemicals perhaps No cell service Response slow from property managers Very limited cooking supplies - since we stayed a week - we cooked our meals there = not many pots and pans But overall we were satisfied.
