My kids and I stayed at Janet's place for four nights over the Thanksgiving break. We all had just a wonderful time. The house is amazing for so many reasons. Some of those reasons are the way the house is stocked with everything you would ever need, the view of the lake can be seen from most of the rooms, There is an amazing fireplace and the cabinets have lots of games to play. All of the cabinets are labelled so it's easy to find all that you need. The bedrooms are all furnished with comfy beds and a great view of the lake. I really liked the fact that there is only one tv in the house. So you are not just sitting around watching tv instead of enjoying your surroundings. The house is located very close to Cave Point Rock and White Fish Dunes. We went to cave point rock 3 times while we were there. It's amazing to watch the waves crashing in to the rocks. We were able to walk down to the beach and let our dogs run all over the beach.I would not change a single thing about this fabulous house and it's view and location. My kids and I give Janet's house and yard and view of the lake a 10 out of 10, 5 stars is not enough. Janet is also very reachable and really thought of everything to make our stay so wonderful.

Can’t beat an outdoor fire by the lake (in the winter!)

Spent a chill 4-days over Christmas with family and friends at this beautiful lakefront house. The location is amazing and the trail leading to Cave Point county park is a huge bonus. A great property to cook, play games, listen to the waves and hike/walk the trails. Very private, but close to the shops and restaurants in Door County too. If you think of all the things you forget to bring to a VRBO that you might need (soap, napkins, tin foil, spices, knife sharpener, etc.), this house has it all.

Comfort in Nature

Beautiful setting, very private, very quiet, gorgeous sunrises and wonderful views, rich natural setting, convenient to county amenities yet fantastically remote feel. Lovely, cozy home is well appointed; very well stocked kitchen; comfortable, private rooms; enjoyable selection of books and games, as well as a ton of helpful information about area. Janet and team completely accessible, very responsive, marvelous communicators. A true getaway, off the beaten path, a place for immersion and relaxation, great for family fun and adult retreat alike, or a comfortable commune with nature in all its rugged, undisturbed great lake beauty.

Location! Location! Location!

If you like hiking the most scenic trail in all of Door County then this place is for you! To be able to step out the back door every morning and hop right in the trail to one of the most famous spots in Door Country was a dream! The view from every room was stunning and hearing the waves crash against the shore made it feel like we were waking up at the ocean each day. Just an incredible stay with such a beautifully unique home. Janet was so easy to work with and poor her love into every guest ensuring it’s the experience you’re looking for. She was also so welcoming to our pups who joined us and equally enjoyed the big back yard and daily hikes. So grateful to have experienced this place and hope to be back someday.

Beautiful sunrise and moon rise!

Our family of 8 stayed at this home and it was wonderful! We had one teen, 3 under 12, 3 adults and one senior. We brought bikes and enjoyed riding to white dunes park as well as other activities in the area. The location is a bit farther south than we’ve been before, but it wasn’t a long drive to all the area attractions we wanted to explore. Amazing sunrise and moon rises! Quiet and relaxing. A great place for families to play and be together near the water.

Home away from home with fabulous Host!

We came to Door County for a girls birthday week ages 40-80 and this place quickly became our home away from home. It was a wonderful location right on the waters edge and literally steps from a beautiful hiking trail! We enjoyed watching a storm come in from across the lake and loved listening to the waves with the windows open or out on the deck! The place was cozy and well equipped with comfortable seating. The Hostess was beyond amazing with great communication and responsiveness. She was authentic and genuinely cared that we were enjoying our time in Door County as well as in her home. I highly recommend this place for you home away from home!

Highly recommend

Inside, the house was a very comfortable space for 6 adults. The three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms allowed for privacy, and the common areas were great for hanging out, eating, and being together. The kitchen was well equipped and well stocked. Outside, the decks and the yard were favorites spots where we played games and enjoyed being right on the lake. We loved being so near to the county and state parks and enjoyed running and hiking without having to drive somewhere. Janet was very responsive and went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. Our family loved staying here and we would definitely return the next time we visit Door County. Thank you!

Quiet and spacious

We had a girl's weekend at Janet's house. The house was well cleaned before our stay and Janet was great to communicate where to get groceries and some places to try for meals. We used the outdoor firepit and forgot to pick up wood, so appreciated the wood available (convenience comes with a price). My suggestions for improvements are to have a bucket (without holes) near the firepit (it's the way I was taught as a girl scout). We appreciated the options to start the fire as the lighters were all out of fluid so had to pick alternatives. The rooms were spacious and there were plenty of bathrooms for us all to get ready. The location is right next to the state park so we were able to go on some walks and even went to the Dunes at one point. We would definitely stay here again as it's a great retreat but you can still drive to Bailey's Harbor or Egg Harbor easily.

Spectacular Spot in Door County

We’ve visited Door County for many years and have never stayed anywhere as beautiful as this house. From the master bedroom you can fall asleep looking at the moon over the lake, have an outdoor fire over the lake, or sit in the spacious living room with tons of windows. The owner was very nice and communicative. Highly recommend!!

Family Vacation

Unanimous, Thumbs Up!

The Door at Cave Point could not have afforded a more suitable, impressive, and revitalizing welcome for our family last week. Everything we needed for a perfectly comfortable stay was available to us, allowing us to pursue activities with the knowledge that ‘home base’ was also an alluring haven. We loved seeing jays, cardinals, vibrant red-headed woodpeckers, hummingbirds and seabirds, every day. The proximity to Cave Point park is a very few steps away, which allows for access to the park, and privacy for the guests. The night skies were saturated with brilliant stars, satellites, and meteors, and we all slept to the soothing rhythm of the lake. We were all charmed by the architecture and feel of this gorgeous home, and Janet was extraordinarily sensitive to our needs. It felt as if she was an agent, working on our behalf, to ensure a perfect vacation. After our visit, our family spread back out to our respective homes, from LA to the East Coast, feeling refreshed, reset, and with full hearts.☀️❣️🌿

Amazing family experience

Our family had an amazing time staying at this beautiful property. It had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. All the personal touches in the home make it feel both comfortable and unique. Janet and her family were very friendly in terms of helping plan our trip and communicative about check in/check out. We forgot part of our pack and play but Janet was very kind to get in touch as soon as she found it. Then it was very easy to arrange for us to pick it up. Also her property management team were friendly and responsive to our needs. Would definitely stay again !
