The chalet was filthy, dusty and smelled very musty and old. Upon our arrival, we had to open the doors and turn on the fans to try to get rid of the smell - it did not work... It also smelled like bug spray coming from the basement.
It was so dark even with all the lights on and the sun shining, we could barely see what we were doing.
There were spider webs in the corners of the rooms and in every window. Two large spiders crawled across the very old carpets.
There were many tripping hazards, including the rugs at the front door and in the bathroom. Also, the rugs in the main part of the house, were loose and saggy and had ridges on them making them unsafe too.
While the listing stated there was a view of the lake, that was definitely misleading. The lake was at least 150 feet from the front porch and barely visible.
Getting from the house to the lake was treacherous as well, the terrain was steep and rocky, certainly not appropriate for me nor my 84-year old father.
The entire place needs a new coat of paint and all the knick-knacks made the chalet seem outdated.
We were afraid to sit on the furniture for fear of what might be contained in the fabric. The dining room chair cushions need to be washed. There were stains on every one.
There were two redeeming qualities - plenty of room for our families to spread out with lots of beds and the porches were spacious too.
We visited now with the potential of coming back with our families next summer. Though not on the website, it is posted all over at the property that swimming is prohibited in the lake. Five children under the age of 16 expect to spend all day in the water - so disappointing.
For the money we paid we were sorely disillusioned. We will not be returning.
