Peaceful Black Tail Cabin

So very peaceful and beautiful. Close to town but felt very remote. Close to glacier too. Wish we could have stayed much longer!!

Blacktail Cabin - Lakeside, MT

Everything was great about this property. We will definitely be staying again. There was no A/C which was clearly stated and surprisingly the cabin stayed cool during the day if we closed all the windows and was pleasant at night even though we happened to visit with it was 97 in Montana. 10/10 recommend

Loved it !!

We have only positive things to say. It was easy to get to , yet secluded . We had plenty of parking for 2 vehicles and our boat. The scenery was beautiful! The cabin was well equipped and clean. We enjoyed the fireplace on a chilly evening. We would love to come back again! Thank you !

Cabin in the woods

Comfortable & well appointed with some issues that needt to be addressed, such as switches & light switches that don’t work; the fireplace & air-tight stove needed to be cleaned before use & windows do not appear to have been cleaned for some time, part. the large windows…ent rance door latch does not operate properly. The above comments are not so much complaints as they are observations…that being said, we would not hesitate to return…a nice location!

Perfect Getaway

This place is perfect! As they stated, the Internet is not reliable. Neither is the Dish Network. Don't plan on streaming services. Download content before you come, or bring your own DVDs. The grill needs some work to be serviceable, also could not figure out the thermostat, but everything else was great! The Lakeside Grocery store has less expensive firewood than Sliters. We enjoyed the serenity of the place, the fireplace, the porch, the view, the gurgling brook. Perfect. We would definitely come back here!

Fall Getaway

What's better than a cozy log cabin in the woods in the Fall? We loved it, everything we needed was available to us. Very nice after a long day to return to such a serene spot to cook a nice meal. The cabin provided so much, great appliances, cookware...thank you!

Blacktail Cabin Issues

Nice location, poor response to an issue at the cabin. VACASA did not repair a tub spout that blew off the first floor tub/shower combo almost injuring our guest. This happened on a Wednesday morning and we left this morning, Saturday with no response. There are more issues that we had but we do not have the space to list them all. If you are interested in more detail, we will be glad to send it to you. We request compensation for the poor service we received. Please give us a call at 614-530-4973 if you want more info or I can email you a two page summary of our issues.

Wonderful!

This property was everything we hoped it would be and more. The loft was fantastic with the bathroom and comfortable bed, the kitchen area and living area large enough for all of us to gather for a meal. Everything was spotless! Can't wait to come back

Wonderfully quiet and relaxing

Lovely spot away from the chaos of fhe valley but still so close to everything needed. Wifi is rural wifi so not hyperspeed but it got the job done. Clean and beautiful. Even got a sunrise from the loft bed!

Beautiful home, challenging communication with Vacasa

Overall this is a beautiful and comfortable cabin. We particularly loved having a fire in the fireplace while playing games in the living room. Our main issue was with a broken dishwasher and terrible communication with Vacasa, the property management company. They have a note right in the counter that says to call immediately if anything is broken. When we arrived and opened the dishwasher there was standing water in the bottom of it that smelled terribly. This should have been caught and fixed by cleaning crew before we arrived. But I followed instructions and called Vacasa immediately. I then spent 30 minutes on hold. I then tried the texting and didn’t hear back for several hours. This is not how I want to start a vacation and especially when I’m paying over $900 for a two night stay. I much prefer properties where communication with directly with a local host.

Very clean and nicely maintained -- great quiet space in the woods

My husband and I were looking for a quiet, relaxing, winter weekend getaway and this home provided exactly that. It was very clean and nicely kept, with a large-enough kitchen that had all the tools we needed to cook. The beds were very comfortable and the TWO fireplaces kept us cozy. It's quite scenic and very serene; I had fun exploring the short paths through the woods around the property.

Great cabin

This cabin is beautiful and has a perfect location. We loved the wood burning fireplace and the true "log cabin" feel. Kitchen was well stocked and everything was clean upon arrival. It's evident that Vacasa sprays for bugs around the cabin, as we noticed dead bugs appearing inside after we got there. We had a 4 night stay, and by the end of it, the loft was peppered with tons of little black bugs (carpet beetles?) all over the floor, especially by the patio door. They looked like mouse droppings until we saw one move. Unsure if we are wrong and it was mice, but there were so many in just a few days, and some even appearing on the bedside table and in the bed. My in-laws slept in the loft and they have lived in the country for many years, so it didn't bother them too much, but I could see this being an issue for other folks. No bugs/droppings noted in the main floor bedrooms. All in all, we loved staying here. It's nice and quiet, feels secluded even though you're only a 5 minute drive from Lakeside. Grocery store, gas station, and Tamarack Brewery all very close. Would recommend this cabin, just be wary if you're squeamish of bugs!

The home was in a great wooded setting and had very comfortable beds and all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. We had a wonderful stay. We would definitely book this home again.

Really a special property

This cabin & surrounding area is incredible. Beautiful fir trees all around. I felt so tucked away, yet it’s not too far from the lake or tiny town. Breathtaking property, hiking down to the little stream was so fun.
