The pluses: the cabin was pretty clean. The carpets could use some attention, and the rugs in the bathroom. There was a nice little game room set up in the garage.
The negatives: the age is really showing at this place. Most of the blinds don't work properly so you can't completely close them. The location, while nice, is right off a busy street and the patio faces that busy street, so it got very loud at times. Also, we didn't use the backyard at all because of the neighbor's dogs. There is a fence, but the dogs were big and seemed like they could jump that fence if they wanted to. They would stand just on the other side and bark at us if we were in the backyard. But, the worst part was the beds. They were so hard and uncomfortable, none of us got a good night's sleep while we were there. With the hard beds and the rattling ceiling fans it was a rough two nights.Ultimately a vacation rental is meant to be comfortable, and this one wasn't. I would advise the owners to invest in updating this aging place and getting some more comfortable beds. It wasn't horrible and might be someone else's cup of tea, but we won't be staying again.
