Perfect for a Large Family

Great family get together! Plenty of sleeping spaces with everyone having their own bathroom! Kids hunted for snails. Plenty of seating to visit , inside & outside. Nice campfire at night. Felt like you were secluded but close to a store if needed. Easy check in & out! Would book again!!

Lovely location for reunion of old friends

This is the second time we've stayed at Blue Magnolia and we've been delighted both times. We're a group of friends who shared an overseas boarding school experience over 50 years ago, and it's a lovely place to reconnect, remember, relax, and look ahead. Thanks Jeff, for providing us with such an idyllic setting for our reunion.

Wonderful Family New Year's Trip

We had a wonderful time here with our family! There were 8 adults and 7 children (almost 3 - 9). One of our families could only come for the day, but we had planned on them staying (2 adults, 3 children ages 1-5). There would have been plenty of room for all! The house is very nice, had everything we needed, and was very clean. Adults and kids enjoyed the hot tub, even in Dec - Jan! (Adults at 11 pm and kids during the day!) We also enjoyed the fire pit on New Year's Eve! The balconies were fun and the views were beautiful. Our son had a camera drone and we got some beautiful videos of our whole family with a view of the lake, then a view of the house when it came back! The children all enjoyed this hike down to the cove and hiking around the curve a bit. The youngest is almost 3 and she did fine, with a little help. They also enjoyed the backyard, but learned they could not throw the football or any balls. One was lost forever in the trees!Jeff answered all my questions promptly before the trip, and we didn't need a thing after we arrived.We highly recommend this house!

Wonderful time!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay! The house had everything we needed and was very clean. There were 17 of us adults and there were plenty of areas to spread out. We loved the private cove and even floated in it the first evening! We were able to anchor and tie-up the boat and pontoon overnight with no problems. Enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub! And the view was pretty also! We would stay here again 🙂 PS: we are all in our 50's and 60's and had no problem with the path down to the lake. It has a sturdy guardrail. We loved the private cove

Summer Fun at Magnolia Lodge

We enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Lodge! It's a large home equipped with all necessities and comforts,(clean and well-kept) for a fantastic stay! The private cove provides great excess for swimming and paddleboard activities. Our hosts are friendly and hospitable in every way. This was our second stay at ML. We gladly recommend this property for any group. Enjoy!

Beautiful property, great for large group

We have an annual tradition of doing a June birthday getaway weekend and this house was perfect for the group. Plenty of rooms, well stocked kitchen and pantry, everything in working order and ice cold AC. Thanks for making your home available for a wonderful and memorable weekend!

Drive down and look before you rent

Main bedroom Ac out. No help From host. Let them know first night. Had a Certified Ac man we us but host would not call him and vet him or give access to room with interior unit to check drains Simple fix more than likely. One bedroom and bath not usable as it was almost 80 at bedtime. Host did reply and state that he tried to Get Ac people out but nothing. Hot tub was also out just a breaker. We took care of that right away. Private cove is not a good description and walk way down is not a walk way it is a slick drop off to a set of stairs. No Fishing from there either as you would not be able to Cast out without getting hung up. House was nice other than Ac. Lots of extras. Three floors so lots of room for kids over the age 3. Steep stairs! Super tight drive way if you think about bringing a boat beware. The then onto the road right before the house might make you think twice. We made the best of it! Had fun with family but would not Recommend.

Family Pre-Thanksgiving Outing

This is a great location to get together with family for our pre-Thanksgiving outing. Its a bit isolated which means everyone hangs around. We had 13 people, 9 adults and 4 kids (7 and under). The kids loved going down to lake to explore. It a steep hike but doable even for our 3 yr. old granddaughter. The house is great - with the kitchen fully equipped with doubles of most things you typically need. The big surprise was that we didn't find the two bathrooms located in the two bedrooms on the first floor (they are behind the open door to the bedroom) for about an hour. Host was responsive when needed. We hope to stay there again.

Family Girls' Trip

This place is great. The location, the number of bedrooms, and baths, the back porch, the view and the quiet peacefulness made this a perfect spot for us all. From my 91 yr old mother down to my 18-month-old great nephews and all in between, we all had a blessed weekend.

Convenient to Whitney and Hillsboro

There were 13 in our group and we had plenty of room. There is a third floor that sleeps 6-7 and that was a little hard for some of us but we knew that when we booked the property. There are not many properties that sleep 13. We were ages 68-70. Has a beautiful view of the lake. There is a very steep incline to get to the lake to fish so that didn't work out for us.

Hale Clan Gathering

Great place to lay back and connect. We do a annual family clan gathering so all the brothers and their families can have time together. There was plenty of space and it was quit. The lake access from the house is too steep for the older members or those who have disabilities. The house is so pleasant that just sitting out by the fire is great. Would recommend for those who want to get away from the maddening crowd.

Wonderful Family Reunion

The property was very well stocked. It was decorated cute and comfortable. It was quite a climb up the steep embankment, but we seemed quite proud ourselves every time. We appreciated the abundance of water toys, life vests and games. The coffee drawer was a big hit! The owners were easy to reach and ontop of their game. Very nice.

Great Value Find for Family Reunions

Pros: -The house fit the 17 (11 adults and 6 kids) of us who stayed there. All the bedrooms on the first two floors had bathrooms attached to the room. -There was enough indoor space for us to have all of us inside during the 107 degree heat. -The house has so many great amenities and useful things in its closets (linens, lifejackets, a baby gate...) -Jeff was great to work with and responded quickly to all the questions and needs that we had. Cons: -The master bedroom only has a half bath- a toilet and a tub. -There were a LOT of bugs inside the home. Maybe it was just the season (we went in late June) but there were many flies, a LOT of pill bugs, and many spiders. -One of the beds on the third level is a cot (this wasn't clear to me from the listing).

Gorgeous

Amazing! Beautiful home with everything you could possibly need. Beds are comfortable and there are plenty of towels and linens. Kitchen is fully stocked and the coffee bar was perfect. Games and puzzles (plenty provided) are easy to do on the table that easily sat 15 people. Plenty of seating inside as well as on the back porch. The sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous from either of the two decks. The cove on the lake was private and my family loved spending time there. The only problem was getting there. The very steep, rocky pathway was difficult and anyone with any mobility issues would find it almost impossible. Don't forget anything at the house, going back and forth from lake to house is not something you want to do. With that said we would definitely stay at the Blue Magnolia again!

Giant home away from home

We had our annual girlfriends slumber party here and this house was perfection. Ample beds, pillows, blankets, towels for the stay, comfortable and ample seating everywhere, great kitchen and a good homey vibe. We will absolutely be hoping to return!

Perfect Adult Get-Together

This was a perfect set-up for our 6 adult couples. The top floor houses 2 rooms and 1 bathroom; that floor is probably best used for kids or one couple. The house is exactly as described, and we each enjoyed private bed and bath. Plenty of parking, the grounds are lovely to walk around, the den is a nice size, the kitchen has plenty of room and top-notch appliances. The smaller of the two dens downstairs is a sunken den which we worried about as a trip hazard as all of us are older, but the host had a baby-gate available that worked great to remind us of the step down. My bed was extremely comfortable with soft sheets. Most rooms have a tub/shower combination. The neighborhood was very quiet. The owner was easy to communicate with on any questions we had. I would certainly stay here again with a group and easily give it 5-stars.
