The property is in a wonderful, quiet location and had plenty of room for our family of 6. We cooked most meals and the kitchen had everything we needed which was great! The only thing we weren’t 100% satisfied with was the attention to detail with cleaning done in the bathrooms and kitchen. We had to wipe counters, sinks and toilets when we arrived. Owners did offer to send someone over, but we didn’t want to wait for that to be done. Close to hiking, biking and lake activities.

Lake Tahoe Cabin for the Family!

We absolutely enjoyed this cabin. We had 9 people (6 adults) 3 kids and a dog. With 3000 sq ft. We never were on top of one another. We took advantage of the pool which was a huge hit with the kids. We even enjoyed lunch at the club overlooking the Lake. Debbie and Dan were great hosts and they have everything you would ever need for a week’s stay. We did see a couple bears but the cabin is well guarded. We plan to go again next year. Highly recommend this place. #BearHaven

BEARy Fun & Peaceful Home

Great cabin / love it

The cabin was awesome, my first time in one . I loved the cabin feel , had awesome decks , everything was clean and labeled for ease . The location was better than I intended . Not a beach front , but close .. one thing that got to me and everyone in my group were the stairs . To steep and narrow to climb or go down. You definitely needs to have great cardio. lol … you and your family will love the experience.

Cozy Winter Getaway

An ideal winter cabin location! The convenience of snowshoeing and sledding right out the back door was unbeatable. The open space and trails were perfect for our young kids. Quick access to multiple resorts allowed for great days on the slopes. The cabin itself was warm and inviting, with fireplaces for that added a special touch. We enjoyed cozy evenings watching movies and the kids absolutely loved their winter adventure. A perfect family retreat!

Fun house - a bit beat up

We had a very nice stay here. The house is large and well stocked. It’s dated and a bit beat up but serviceable, a bit like staying at grandmas house. The cleansing prior to our arrival could have been better but part of this is that the kitchen and baths are pretty old, thus hard to ever appear really clean. It was a nice place to stay and served its purpose well.

Great stay!

Great little cabin. We loved the game room and there was plenty of space for our group of 7 adults and 1 child. A well-stocked kitchen was an added bonus (something you aren’t guaranteed with every VRBO)!

Winter getaway

We had an amazing time at Bear Haven. The cabin felt very homey. Only reason I gave the cleanliness 3 stars, was because the hot-tub didn’t seem to be cleaned. The property managers were very responsive to all our questions. I would recommend the furniture be upgraded. The location was amazing even though Homewood ski resort was closed for this season the drive to Palisades Tahoe was not bad at all. I highly recommend this place for a familiy or families.

Bear Haven

Bear Haven was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the wonders of Lake Tahoe in the winter. I really appreciated that you thoughtfully provided a well-stocked kitchen and beautiful bedrooms.

Great Family Thanksgiving

We stayed at Bear Haven for the second time, celebrating Thanksgiving. It’s a comfortable house for our extended family. The nephews loved playing outside in the snow. The kitchen works great for cooking big family meals. And we loved relaxing in the hot tub while enjoying the wintery view.

Friends Reunion

Our group (6 adults and 2 toddlers) had a wonderful stay at Bear Haven. It had more than enough room for our crew and everyone was very comfortable. It feels like home. We enjoyed the hot tub and hiking around the backyard. It was right next to Obexers so it made our boat launch incredibly easy. We hope to make this an annual trip and would love to come back!

Tahoe character

This cute three-story house had lots of character. It was in good location to everything we needed And I like the option of using the private beach area for members. There was a few small Items that could be addressed. If you have a game room, you should have plenty of supplies. There was no ping-pong balls which we had to purchase and there was no chalk for the pool table. Toilet paper was one ply, I think two ply would be much better. There is multiple cobwebs in the house around all the windows that we had to utilize. I would still stay there again the house had plenty of space and we enjoyed our time there.

Did not use hot tub nor private beach access but accommodations were good. Twin bed main floor mattress not good and third floor front bedroom bed closest to hall not good but all others were comfortable

Wonderful cabin and property

We stayed at Bear Haven in Homewood in early July 2024. There were 8 adults and 3 children in our group. We fit very comfortably. The kitchen was well-equipped for us to do all the cooking we had planned. There were more than enough dishes. The host has supplied the cabin with space heaters and fans, and we used both since it was quite cool for the first few days, then heated up drastically toward the middle of the week. There is also bear spray and a bear horn kept on top of the fridge, but we didn't see any signs of bears. The host responded to a couple of questions very quickly. The best thing about this cabin was access to the private beach and pool. Anyone who has visited Tahoe recently knows the beaches are so crowded that it's impossible to find a spot (and the lake water is very cold!). The private access made a huge difference.
