Ann is a wonderful host. Very attentive and available for any questions. Our large family stayed in this house for a holiday weekend and it was superb. There’s enough space to be together and play games, and be comfortable. The house is historic and the location cannot be beat. We love to cook and we were impressed with the well-appointed kitchen (and super sharp knives!)

Great location and front porch

Our family of 7 adults and 3 small children stayed at the Olympic House over the 4th of July weekend and really enjoyed it. The location cannot be beat as it is just off of Main Street with its restaurants, coffee shops and other shops. And of course Mirror Lake. Our group walked to the small public beach which is about 10 minutes away every day and swam and built sand castles. A great place for the kids and a playground is right there as well.We did have some issues in the house with the electrical there, apparently related to using the air conditioners and hair dryers at the same time. The owner, Ann, tried her best to get an electrician out there but to no avail over the long July 4 weekend. We managed to do ok though and just spent more time on the very large and welcoming front porch which was already our favorite place in the house.

Pre Christmas vacation

It was perfect for our family of 16. We had a wonderful time. It needs a few improvements. Mattresses were too soft, comforters need cleaning, oven takes too long to preheat, hot tub not filled sufficiently and no hose to add water, faucets drip. The location could not be better. The house was completely decorated beautifully for the holiday. We would definitely like to return.

Overall, the house is in a perfect location. Lots of room, the front porch is fantastic for relaxing after the games. Double washers and dryers are great as well. Parking at the house is the only concern if you are a large group of individuals.

Overall Good

On our recent trip to the Lake Placid area we stayed at 44 Mercy Rd., Lake property . We were pleasantly surprised to meet the property owner, who gave us a full tour of the house, and she couldn’t be nicer . She explained to us everything about the property and the surrounding area and answered all our questions satisfactorily. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us to make our stay enjoyable . We did have a few things that we would have like her to improve but overall we had a great experience staying at the property and recommended for someone who like to stay near the lake Placid area for quick access to most attractions. This charming home is specially great for large groups of people which we had . Hopefully this review is helpful.

Never Disappoints

I have stayed at this house a few times now and as titled it never disappoints. Great location and plenty of room for everyone. Had some nice weather and really got to enjoy the porch during our stay.

Great Spot In Lake Placid NY

Very nice older home home in walking distance to many downtown Lake Placid attractions. The home is very spacious, and the owner shared the history of the home, which was interesting. Overall, our group was very satisfied with the accommodations, and we will definitely consider staying here again.

Wedding weekend

Went to Lake Placid for a wedding and needed a house for 13 people. This was a great house in a great location. Beds were comfortable. Ann was quick to respond with any questions. Check is at 4pm. We had to wait for owner before entering which I never experienced before, but she gave us the history of the house which was interesting. She was 1/2 hr late, but was in contact with me and was apologetic. Also in the description she needs to change the amount of cars that are allowed in the driveway on VRBO. It said room for 6 vehicles, but it was only 4. She did have other places for our cars to park and it was close by (walking distance).

Ann, the owner was wonderful to work with! The only negative is that some of the details on VRBO are incorrect. It lists 16 as max occupancy when it is really 14(14 is listed on the contract). We booked this with the idea that 16 was the max. Fortunately we had two guests that couldn’t make it or it would have been a big issue.

Another amazing LP stay!

This is the second time we have stayed in one of Ann's homes, and once again, it did not disappoint. The location absolutely cannot be beat! We visited President's Day weekend, when downtown parking is at its worst. The ability to walk everywhere in town was priceless. Watching the pedestrians walk down Main St., with snow falling and Mirror Lake in the distance - all while sitting in the hot tub - was magical. The house is well-stocked and well cared for. We had 9 adults and 5 children (ages 3-8) and were very comfortable. On top of the house being amazing, Ann is a pleasure to rent from. Highly recommend!
