have plenty of room in this great old home with a great cabin feel. Direct view of the lake and along backyard with a dock. Two neighbors on either side directly on the lake but they were kind and happy to have us. Lots of snow and lots of single-digit temps while we were there. Used the fireplace a ton and the Wi-Fi - both worked great and there was a huge stack of firewood. Everything you can think of was provided at the house.

Lake placids best

Beautiful adirondack lodge right on lake placid with well appointed kitchen and beautiful vintage adirondack decorations throughout. Superb location with peaceful setting just a few minutes to town. Easy communication with the host at all times. Would reccomend anyone come enjoy the beautiful setting .Beddings were very comfortable and large fireplace set the tone of warmth in tge home.

Wonderful Experience

This home is just wonderful...spacious, comfortable and incredibly well equipped. Kathi and Gary are the most gracious hosts...so helpful and responsive to any need. The location on Lake Placid couldn't be better...beautiful views of the lake and Whiteface Mountain...close to restaurants and amazing trails. Don't think twice...it will be a great experience to stay at Camp Bearberry!

Fabulous rental for extended family getaway

Camp Bearberry was a great place for our 3-generation family of 8 adults + 4 children. We appreciated having bathrooms for each bedroom and the well-stocked kitchen. We made full use of the two porches, spacious dock, yard and direct lake access.The only thing we needed was more sunny days!

Another wonderful visit!

This was our second time renting Camp Bearberry. Everything was great. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We were able to prepare our meals easily in the kitchen and grill outside. We enjoyed amazing Lake Placid views from the porch and spacious dock. Loved using the kayaks, paddle board, and boat! Only a short drive to Main Street to shop and go out to eat. We’ve rented waterfront properties in Lake Placid for years and this was one of the best lakefront experiences.

Awesome Location

Our growing family thoroughly enjoyed the house, yard, dock, boat, kayaks, and the lake/mountain views. Well stocked kitchen, large screen porch, large open porch, nice bedrooms. The small beach area and yard were great for the grandkids. Anything we seemed to need, was there or the owners got it for us. The owners were responsive and available.

Lake Placid Vacation

We had the best family fun. House is perfect for a large family!! We loved the dock, the boat, the view, the furnishings, the bedrooms, the location -- we just got home and are missing the Lake Placid fun. We are booking again for next year!!

Family trip

We had a great time - family meals,game nights. The dock and porch were excellent for family time . There were kayaks and paddle boards available and a pontoon boat to rent that was on site . We had an excellent family vacation

A well maintained classic Adirondack camp

This is a beautiful home. Kathie and Gary are wonderful hosts, providing everything you could need for a getaway. Lake access couldn't be easier. The kitchen has all the pots, pans, flatware and dishware you could possibly need. The fireplace is wonderful. Each bedroom is individual but part of the theme. That theme is classic Adirondack camp, so if that appeals to you, this house can provide a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Holiday Getaway

Second time staying at Kathie and Gary's home with my adult family. Just delightful. The home is beautifully decorated for the holidays and the 6 bedrooms, each with a en suite, was perfect for us. Kathie is a lovely host and communications could not have been easier. Look forward to our next stay.

Wonderful Location and Beautiful Home

Having a small immediate family wedding overlooking Lake Placid and Whiteface was so special for Patty and I. Thank you so much Kathie and Gary! Your home is truly special and was perfect for our six adult daughters, spouses, granddaughters and our pups. Everything was well stocked and the perfect size for a comfortable and cozy experience. The kids really appreciated having their own bathrooms. Patty and I jumped in the lake when we got there but quickly got out. Water is a little cold in October. We did have fun kayaking and a loon did swim to us and make that cool sound. Hiking was fun and biking on the new rail trail was great. This is the first time I got home from a vacation and felt sad. Missing the perfect spot, beautiful home and best lake in the Adirondacks already.

Amazing House Right on the Water!

We stayed for my daughters wedding which was held at the Whiteface Club. This house was perfect! Plenty of bedrooms each with its own private full bath. Large dining room table for meals, great kitchen FULLY stocked! I love when there are plenty of dishes and cookware. The front porch and screened in porch with the lake views was spectacular!! Kathie is an amazing host! Very friendly and always available! I felt like we were good friends. Read her book, she has a lot of tips for local eateries and things to do! Definitely want to return to enjoy the beautiful lake!

Annual Family Vacation

Our annual vacation is usually at a beach location. Last year we decided to change it up a bit and selected this house at Lake Placid. We absolutely made the right choice. Camp Bearberry was perfect for us. Kathie and Gary were the perfect hosts, attentive to our every need and quick to respond to our questions. The house had everything we needed and was more than adequate for the 10 people in our group. We thoroughly enjoyed the Lakeside dock/deck, where we spent many hours swimming, boating, and enjoying the incredible view to include Whiteface Mountain. I highly recommend renting their 22 foot pontoon boat, which we used daily to meander around the lake and pull the kids on a large tube. With so much to do around the area any time of year, Lake Placid is the perfect location for a family vacation and Camp Bearberry should be your first choice when deciding where to stay!

Perfect Family Retreat

This home had everything our family needed and more. From the beginning the Owners were easy to communicate with and were available both before and during our stay. The furnishings and beds were very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms that adjoined each bedroom made it easy for the nine of us to relax and spread out. With a well stocked kitchen we were able to make many meals at home... but it was also a quick n easy drive to downtown on other nights. The dock and screened porch made enjoying the lake and views of Whiteface Mountains a daily routine. We will be back again for sure!
