Overall, our stay was pleasant and relaxing. The space itself was cozy and inviting—small, but it felt homey and comfortable. We slept great; the area was wonderfully dark at night with no intrusive streetlights, which made for a peaceful rest. The hot tub was already heated when we arrived, which was a thoughtful touch and saved us the wait. It was also clean and free of bugs, which we appreciated.
There were a few areas that could use attention. The listing photos should be updated, as it appears the lake shown is no longer there—likely due to Hurricane Helene. That space is now an active construction area with workers and trucks. While we understand natural disasters are beyond anyone’s control, the lake view was one of the main reasons we booked.
Inside, the bedroom window didn’t close completely, making it a bit chilly at night. The space heater provided only worked intermittently before shutting off, and the fireplace was disabled, which was disappointing given the cooler weather. We also noticed a few small housekeeping details: there was very little coffee left with no cream or sugar, and a cluster of dead bugs under the DVD player. Outside, the propane grill lacked a tank, so we weren’t able to use it for dinner as planned.
Despite these minor inconveniences, we truly enjoyed our stay. The location is quiet and peaceful, and the overall experience was still positive. I personally loved the cool nights—though my wife might say otherwise after freezing a bit!
